What we're Looking for:
We’re building fast—and thoughtfully. From rapid product launches to hitting meaningful user milestones, Phoenix is a place where engineering, growth, and creativity intersect. We believe the best growth comes from well-crafted experiences that users love.
If you’re an experienced front-end engineer who thrives at the intersection of product, experimentation, and data—and you want to see your work directly influence user behaviour and business outcomes—this role is for you.
As a Growth Developer, you’ll sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Growth. You’ll lead the implementation of high-impact UI experiments, build polished, world-class user experiences in React, and use data to continuously optimize acquisition, activation, and retention at Phoenix.
You’re comfortable owning problems end-to-end, collaborating cross-functionally, and making informed tradeoffs to drive measurable results.
Have a quick read on the mindset of a Product-Minded Software Developer. If this describes you, then you’ll be a great fit for this role!

What You’ll Do:
Design, build, and iterate on user-facing features in React that directly impact acquisition, activation, and retention
Own and implement A/B tests and experiments end-to-end, partnering closely with Product, Marketing, and Design
Translate hypotheses into experiments, measure outcomes, and iterate based on real user behavior and data
Drive improvements in key business and product metrics through thoughtful UI and UX changes
Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and best practices, while independently shipping high-quality work
Contribute to improving development workflows, experimentation practices, and front-end quality over time
What You Bring:
3–5 years of professional experience building production front-end applications, with strong hands-on experience in React
Deep comfort with modern JavaScript (ES6+), component-driven development, and front-end best practices
Experience designing, shipping, and iterating on user-facing features in a data-informed or experimentation-driven environment
Familiarity with growth-oriented development work, including funnels, onboarding flows, A/B tests, or conversion-focused features
Experience working with experimentation, analytics, or BI tools to extract actionable insights and inform product decisions
Hands-on experience with modern front-end tooling and technologies such as TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, React Hook Form, and/or SQL
An understanding of front-end performance, accessibility, and scalable UI patterns (e.g., design systems)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously from concept to delivery
Clear communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset
A genuine interest in improving the Canadian healthcare experience, with a personal connection to the space
Why Work at Phoenix?
A Rewarding Mission: Through our asynchronous care model, Phoenix is reimagining patient-centric care for Canadians across the country by making diagnoses and treatment delivery faster, more accessible, and completely discreet.
Impact & Autonomy: You’ll work directly with passionate, experienced leaders who’ve seen the ups and downs of building a business and genuinely care about your growth. You won’t just execute — you’ll help shape the future of Phoenix and Raven.
Collaborative In-Office Culture: Based in the heart of downtown Toronto, our HQ team comes together on-site five days a week to build fast and push what’s possible. We love the fast feedback loops, spontaneous brainstorms, and actually knowing the people we work with. Bonus points if you’re into the occasional foosball tournament or have strong opinions about the best lunch spot in the neighbourhood.
Competitive Pay, Real Benefits: Our compensation bands are backed by real market data, so offers are competitive and fair. Our benefits package includes standard healthcare coverage, a remote-first holiday season, and holistic wellbeing support — such as a wellbeing allowance and flexible additional time off to care for loved ones, support mental health, observe meaningful religious and cultural holidays, or when life just happens.
