Perch is simplifying the homeownership journey for Canadians—from mortgage approvals to new forms of real estate credit. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own design execution across our entire business, which includes the brokerage and lending verticals.
This role isn't about abstract aesthetics—it's about systems thinking. You'll build structured, scalable design frameworks that developers love to implement. You'll create intuitive, state-aware UI components that reflect how things actually work—CRUD operations, conditional logic, and real-world flows. And you'll make it all feel seamless to the end user.
You'll also contribute across brand and marketing surfaces, but your foundation is product design that behaves like code: reusable, maintainable, and purpose-driven.
What You'll Be Doing
Must-Have
$120,000 - $140,000

What You'll Be Doing
- Design full user journeys across web and mobile—thinking in states, transitions, and flows, not just screens
- Translate product requirements into modular components and interfaces that map cleanly to front-end implementation
- Create, extend, and maintain a structured, developer-friendly design system grounded in reusability and scalability
- Collaborate with PMs and engineers in tight loops—from whiteboard to Figma to working code
- Contribute to marketing and brand design efforts (e.g. landing pages, presentations, social graphics), maintaining consistency without compromising velocity
- Use user testing, analytics, and intuition to validate ideas and continually refine your work
- Coach teams on how to think in systems—modularity, consistency, and design rationales that scale
Must-Have
- 5+ years in a Senior Product Design role shipping real features with product and engineering
- You live and breathe systems thinking—design is Lego bricks, not pixel art. You've built or evolved component libraries and know the difference between scalable design and one-offs
- Strong understanding of UI states and CRUD logic—you design for create, read, update, delete like a product thinker
- Advanced Figma user with proven expertise in auto layout, variants, tokens, and reusable components
- Familiarity with front-end dev practices—you think in terms of constraints and implementation feasibility
- You bring creative flair and strong visual instincts to your systematic approach—clean doesn't mean boring, and reusable doesn't mean generic
- A strong point of view on AI tools—how they enhance your creative process, copy writing prototyping, etc
- Confident prototyping, user testing, and iterating based on data and structured feedback
- Strong communicator—able to explain your design decisions clearly and challenge or be challenged constructively
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to collaborate during North American business hours
- Experience designing for mortgages, banking, or financial services
- Familiarity with marketing and brand design (e.g. social graphics, landing page experimentation)
- Previous startup or scale-up experience with exposure to fast feedback loop
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Flexible working hours and fully remote work options
- Opportunity to work with a passionate and talented team
- Chance to contribute to the growth and success of an innovative technology company
- Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement
