  2. Technical assessment – A hands-on task where you’ll test something real and share your findings, just like you would on the job.
  3. First interview – A conversation with your manager and HR to talk through your experience and see if this role feels like a good fit for you and for us.
  4. Second interview – A chance to meet your manager and some of the development team, get to know how we work, and figure out together if we’d be a great match.

After each step in the process, we’ll let you know whether you’re moving forward.

About our Development Team

Our Development Team is a small, agile group that includes six developers, collectively responsible for maintaining and enhancing over 50 code repositories. We previously had one QA tester, and are now hiring to fill that role.

Our team is highly cross-functional and self-sufficient, with strengths in adaptability and rapid learning. We work on a wide variety of projects, and everyone is comfortable handling different applications and frameworks. If you enjoy testing across diverse applications, frameworks, and product areas, you’ll thrive here.

We also value deep work and protect focus time, keeping meetings to a minimum so you can spend your time testing, not stuck in meetings.

About the role

As our only QA Tester, you’ll work closely with our developers to ensure features are reliable, accessible, and user-friendly across multiple applications.

You’ll test both frontend and backend applications, including web & mobile apps, and AWS Lambdas.

Your responsibilities will include manual testing, documenting tests and outcomes, and developing QA automation scripts as needed. An eye for design and a strong understanding of user experience are essential—not only to verify that features work as intended, but also to help ensure they deliver the best possible experience for our users.

Work environment

We work in a hybrid environment, with team members encouraged to come into the office at least once a week—typically on Thursdays when we have a staff lunch. Please note that we will be closing our Port Moody office location in February 2026 and will be fully remote, except for occasional in-person meetups.

We offer flexible hours to support work-life balance and individual productivity.

Preferred experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a QA testing position
  • Experience in testing web and mobile applications
  • Experience in testing e-commerce software
  • Experience with testing for web accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA)
  • Experience with QA automation, preferably with PlayWright in Javascript

Skills, knowledge & abilities

  • Great attention to detail, especially with user interfaces
  • Excellent documentation & communication skills
  • Strong time management, prioritization and self-management skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to make proactive changes
  • Demonstrate sound judgment to escalate issues to senior members within the Development Team
