About you and the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Platform Engineer with extensive experience to grow our team. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing scalable and reliable platform solutions that will underpin the growth of our partner network. As a technical leader, you’ll work cross-functionally to establish mature patterns, increase adoption, share knowledge, and demonstrate the value of platform engineering practices.

What you’ll do

  • Platform Architecture and Design: Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure platform solutions that support high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability requirements
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends related to SaaS platforms. Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies to enhance the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our platform
  • Platform Development: Lead the development and implementation of new features and functionality on our SaaS platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, designers, and go-to-market teams, to ensure seamless integration and efficient delivery of new features
  • Developer Experience: Advocate for developer experience and productivity by designing and implementing developer-friendly tools, frameworks, and APIs. Streamline the development process, improve code quality, and promote best practices within the engineering team
  • Network Dynamics: Possess a deep understanding of network market dynamics and their impact on SaaS platforms
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges within the platform. Optimize platform components, database schemas, and infrastructure configurations to achieve optimal performance and resource utilization
  • Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and best practices to protect customer data and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards (i.e. SOC 2 Type 2)
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation, including architectural designs, technical specifications, and operational guidelines. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve complex platform issues. Provide timely and effective resolutions to maintain the platform's reliability and uptime

You’re a great candidate if…

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Strong understanding of SaaS principles, architectures, and best practices
  • Expertise in designing and implementing highly scalable and reliable platform solutions using modern technologies and frameworks
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience with relational databases and data modeling
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a SaaS environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
