We’re a lean, ambitious team building a best-in-class platform used by passionate sports fans across North America. Working at OwnersBox means real ownership, real impact, and real opportunities to grow. You’ll work alongside smart, driven teammates in a fast-moving environment where ideas matter, execution wins, and progress is visible.

If you’re looking for a role where your work matters, you’re passionate about sports, and you want to help build the future of paid fantasy sports, OwnersBox is the place to do it.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Developer to join our engineering team and contribute directly to the continued evolution of our platform. In this role, you’ll work across the stack to design, build, and deliver features that power real-money fantasy sports products used by passionate fans across North America.

You’ll leverage Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—including App Engine, Datastore, and Cloud SQL—to help build scalable and reliable backend systems. You’ll also contribute to front-end development using Vue.js (web) or React Native (mobile), working closely with Product, QA, and Design to ship features efficiently.

This role is well-suited for developers who take pride in their work, ramp up quickly, and are motivated to make an immediate impact in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

  • Design, build, and maintain Java-based applications and services running on GCP.
  • Utilize App Engine, Datastore, and Cloud SQL to deliver efficient, reliable cloud solutions.
  • Ensure high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance for mission-critical systems.
  • Implement front-end features using React Native (mobile) or Vue.js (web) to create engaging, user-friendly interfaces provided by our UI/UX design team.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Collaborate with DevOps to implement best practices for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance and resource usage in a cloud environment.
  • Stay updated on GCP offerings and evaluate new services or upgrades for improved performance.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Product, QA, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and proposed solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Who You Are

  • Experience developing applications using Java
  • Experience with React Native and/or Vue.js
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services such as App Engine, Datastore, and Cloud SQL
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern application architectures
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and working through technical challenges
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of sports or fantasy sports is a plus!
  • Experience in a start-up or high-growth tech company.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Innovative Tech Environment: Work with the latest cloud and software development tools to create meaningful solutions.
  • Impactful Work: Contribute to high-priority initiatives and see your ideas come to life quickly.
