Job Description
SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Directs the activities of a team with integrated hardware/software systems design function. Designs and develops electronic, electromechanical equipment or systems-oriented products, and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions. Conducts feasibility studies on engineering proposals and related technical data for assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Collects operational data and prepares customer application information. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Functional
- Responsible for development and execution of engineering / application team plan including execution strategy, growth objectives, target market, applications, customers, technologies, pricing strategies, core competencies, etc.
- Participates in development of business team strategic plan to support development of marketing and execution strategy for the business segment.
- Support for execution of Annual Operating Plan for assigned industry / application.
- Solves complex engineering problems associated with assigned business segment from order execution through startup.
- May participate in the identification, implementation and successful proliferation of focused applications in the assigned industry / application
- Be aware in Processes business system paperwork, obtains appropriate review per published business procedures/guidelines, and processes technical notices / product notice tracking and issue resolution.
- Maintains updated and covering all the iPD regulations of business/projects files.
- Demonstrates accountability for completing work assignments; meets commitments disputes, negotiations, and deadlines.
- Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary technical, financial and commercial information
- Responsible for the utilization planning for his team, tracking, and exception reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings and prepare necessary reports and documentation
- Gather and summarize data to support utilization, Contingency Work Force and GEC usage for overall business team.

- Responsible for process improvement activities within assigned business scope.
- Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports.
- Typically manages an organization of 3 - 15 engineering professionals and coordinates activities with support teams and other capabilities.
- Anticipates the need for change and supports and promotes company-wide programs, strategies and initiatives.
- Ensures conformance of all team activities to QMS / ISO / iPD / Safety standards and other company requirements.
- Interpersonal
- Responsible for resource planning: assigns people to project teams.
- Works with direct reports to address training needs.
- Creates an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
- Supports an environment conducive to customer satisfaction.
- Manage through direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled support individual contributors.
- Proven ability to positively interact with project managers and other business teams.
- Responsible for long-term headcount planning.
- Business
- Responsible for all aspects of performance for assigned engineering team.
- Responsible for meeting planned utilization target. It includes coordination with project managers to achieve target.
- Responsible for supporting commercial team.
- Builds partnerships at middle management level of key customers.
- Co-Responsible for results of customer satisfaction surveys for business segment.
- Reviews & recommends approval for sales proposals & purchase orders per the Proposal Review and Pricing Policy.
- Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge; further education in business administration, or operations is desirable.
- Experience in engineering related to Process control, process safety, information and/or automation systems including at least five years as lead engineer or similar leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success at simultaneously managing multiple complex customer projects related to the vertical assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to positively interact with customers at middle-to-senior management levels.
- Extensive experience with direct customer contact. Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
- Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet business commitments.
- Proven ability to manage human resources and effectively plan headcount.
- Fluent in English is mandatory.
- Previous people management experience is desirable.
