Job Description Summary – Production Control Analyst (PCA)
We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced PCA to create, modify, and manage production schedules. The production planner’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. To be successful as a PCA, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. Ultimately, an exceptional PCA should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.
Job Description– Production Control Analyst (PCA)
- Responsible for consistent building of schedules based upon an element of time the constraint is being utilized
- Responsible for creating production plan taking into account the available resources
- Responsible for at a moment’s notice that they are managing dates on all their Production Orders
- Responsible for the status of every line they schedule at a moment's notice; to include articulating all issues and when they will be resolved down to the lowest component level
- Responsible for the function of the basic material parameter (Lead time/ Lot size/ MOQ/ ABC Classification, etc) and understands how it impact to inventory and service result
- Understands the linkage to demand planning, forecast flow & demand/supply variability impacts planning
- Understands bottleneck and line balancing concepts
- Understands impact of lumpy demand on plants and supply chain
- Understands of capacity planning, understands routings and order scheduling concepts
- Understands the functionality of Materials Management and Production scheduling modules in local MRP system
- Understands how and when to use the following SAP T-codes
- Able to demonstrate to identify when to contact a Supplier for an expedite as well as what steps need to be taken thereafter
- Responsible for at a moment’s notice that they are managing dates on all their POs
- Understands the escalation process, shortage report works and how to identify the PO priority
- Understands a PAA/VMI/Consignment should work and how to manage the blanket PO
- Able to demonstrate use Excel (basics, vlookup, pivot tables) & use and analyze data from Power BI.
- Understands big-picture impacts and drilling into details
- Understands of problem-solving techniques - 5 Why's, MAAR, PDCA, A3, etc
- Able to demonstrate of taking different sets of data and synthesizing to root cause
- Able to demonstrate high level understanding of how material flows within their area of responsibility
- Understands the handshakes that must occur, who owns what, and how it impacts the schedule if it doesn't happen flawlessly
- Able to demonstrate a high-level understanding of how the schedule is executed on the shop floor
- Able to demonstrate the handshakes that must occur to get product scheduled, built, and shipped and how it impacts the customer if it doesn't happen flawlessly
- Able to demonstrate about how to get and release priority to production, solve and track all the issue to ensure the production plan is executed flawlessly
- Able to demonstrate high level understanding of how a quality problem impacts their schedule
Experience and Education
- Min education, Degree related in supply chain or manufacturing background
- Good analytical skill and able to apply knowledge on problem solving.
- Ideally with 2 years of working experience.
- Candidate with no experience who are willing to learn and willing to take the challenge are also welcomed as junior level.
