Job Description
Project Engineer
Noida-India
As a Project Engineer for Metals & Infrastructure projects you will be part of a dynamic engineering team based in Noida, working under the guidance of a Team Lead or Execution Manager. Your day will involve collaborating with global project managers, executing automation projects across various industries, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective delivery. You'll visit customer sites to troubleshoot and commission systems, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement. You will report to the Manager/TL and have a Full time schedule working in Noida, India
Your Responsibilities:
- Project Execution & Delivery: Responsible for timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution that ensures customer satisfaction.
- Process & Industry Standards: Provide process domain expertise and solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Project Managers and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth project engineering services and execution.
- Project Oversight: Supervise and monitor all phases of project execution, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Team Development: Mentor and coach junior project engineers to enhance team capabilities and performance.
- Scope & Risk Management: Collaborate with the PM and Team Leader on scope definition, risk management, and technical issue resolution.
- Escalation & Support: Handle escalations effectively and support large project pursuits, ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared.
- Standardization & Cost Reduction: Promote reuse of standard engineering solutions and drive cost reduction through process improvements.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with leadership to ensure technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
- Site Travel & Troubleshooting: Willingness to travel to project sites to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- 4 to 9 years of hands-on experience in automation engineering, specifically with PLC and drive system applications, including system design and implementation.
- Comprehensive project lifecycle exposure, from initial design through to final commissioning.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for effective collaboration and project execution.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
w Intermediate level of expertise in Integrated Architecture, Component and Architecture Class Standard Drives, Drive Migration/Upgradation.
w Intermediate level of expertise in Industry Knowledge (Metal Processing Lines -CGL/CCL/Slitter/Rewinding Line etc. Coordinated Drive systems, Caster, Blast Furnace, Hot Rolling Mill), Application Knowledge, Training Skills, and basic understanding of Project Management, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).
w AC and DC drive selection based on Motor load and application,
w Good Working Knowledge of AC/DC drives based on application like Metal Processing Line etc.
w Major Commissioning experience on PLC & Drives.
w Technical Knowledge on Electrical Switchgear selection, Part selection for a drive/Servo application for starters and drives like Fuse, Contactor, Choke etc.
w Different Electrical Standard knowledge like NEMA, IEC, UL508 will be an added advantage.
