As a Senior Software Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will design industry-leading commercial software known for its innovation and usability. You will also perform intermediate level software testing tasks including test planning, scheduling, and execution.

You will be an important player in subsystem design, implementation, and testing. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams and may also require you to be the technical lead of a small-scale feature or portion of a feature.

You will report to Engineering manager based in Singapore.

Essential Functions

  • Collect, contributes to and documents requirements for a feature and its components, ensuring the information required to develop software and corresponding test cases are contained in the specifications.
  • You will Develop new subsystem designs or help exist ones ensuring they meet the established requirements.
  • You will Establish a timeline and determine the resources needed to execute a design. Considers tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost and reliability in the choice of a design approach.
  • You will Provide progress reports.
  • You will Implement and documents code that meets the requirements of the software design, develops Experience writing clean, concise code with comments unit test plans.
  • Reports, analyzes anomalies, determines the origin and cause of anomalies identified.
  • You will Take the lead in the integration of other components by solving problems within subsystems to produce a final product.
  • You will Lead reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of one or more software subsystems.
  • You will build relationships and work with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized.
  • You will Take the lead on identifying and recommending software development capability improvements in software development practices, development tools, and test automation.
  • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners and convey design concepts, both verbally and in writing.
  • Stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments complex control system concepts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Typically requires five years of experience in a software product development environment
  • Direct experience developing web-based applications using Angular and C#/.NET Core
  • Direct experience with Agile software development process, experience of Scrum Master
  • Experience with object-oriented design principles and common design patterns
  • Basic knowledge or experience with micro service architecture and cloud technologies
  • Apply data structures and algorithms
  • You can apply basic knowledge of software test methodologies
  • You can apply basic knowledge of testing web/cloud software products
  • Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry
  • Direct experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams
