Job Description

Summary:

The Project Manager role leads customer-facing Engineer to Order (ETO) projects in the Power Control Business (PCB) organization. Scope of supply may contain products from the Medium Voltage Business (MVB) and Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) business along with 3rd party products and services.

You will work with many different teams including Commercial Engineering, Application Engineering, Finance, Quality, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) and distribution to deliver a positive experience to our customers. You will use Project Management Institute (PMI) principles (initiate, plan, implement, monitor, and close) required to complete projects by deadline, under budget and with expected quality. Tasks include leading the project team, managing scope of supply, project budget, project schedule, project forecasting, stakeholder communication and issue resolution. You will lead a project team by influence, oversee the project and act as a single contact to the customer. You will help attain customer loyalty and satisfaction while also achieving internal metrics such as earnings, on-time deliveries, and project quality.

You will be reporting to AP PMO Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Pre-sales activities· Support sales on calls with customer/channel to define execution strategy.· Provide overall schedule in MS project to be included with proposal.· Provide support for business logging process (Multiple BU's, 3rd party, direct and channel orders).· Collaborate with multiple BU resources on scope questions.
  • Post-Order activities· Support logging strategy, ensuring SAP information is documented in SharePoint, along with PCOTs flag.· Provide single contact for customer as defined in pre-order execution strategy.· Manage internal and external suppliers to IPP scope (behave as RA EPC PM).· Provide normal reports and support customer scheduling and invoicing as detailed in commercial documents.· Schedule appropriate project related travel with appropriate resources including necessary customer FATs in RA facilities and RA supplier/partner facilities (eg. Switchgear/Transformer/E-house).· Manage change between all parties.· Identify potential scope missed during project and be opportunistic to improve scope and value to customer through RA solutions.· Manage facets of project including appropriate close-outs and setup of warranty and service support after commissioning.Be viewed as customer champion while maintaining project deliverables and maintaining overall RA profitability.

You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in process automation or application engineering project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Project Management responsibilities such as customer interface, project budget maintenance, project schedule maintenance, contract management and project resources planning.
  • Manage large multi-million turnkey project experience including multi-vendors and third-party supply.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and people interface skills.
  • Influence, motivate and work within a multi-discipline technical team environment.
  • Manage an indirect reporting and geographically dispersed engineering, manufacturing, logistic and procurement teams using collaboration tools and remote management skill.
  • Communicate with varying management levels, both internally and externally.
  • Experience with financial aspects of project management with technical background in power and control.
  • Process information to address potential issues as early as possible to minimize impact, mitigate risk and provide a positive experience for all project partners.
  • Manage multi-tasks and resources independently.
  • Make decisions in complex situations.
  • Review and understand Contracts and Project Specifications
  • Scale communication to the level of detail required based on the audience.
  • Manage emotions so there are no behaviors getting in the way of effectiveness.
  • Remain calm and being able to think rationally and inclusively.
  • Is known for showing confidence and saying what needs to be said while listening to others' perspectives.
  • Manage others by influencing and managing expectations.
  • Available for all project pressing matters that require their presence.
  • Work with different cultural backgrounds and time zones.
  • Work non-standard hours when handling global projects.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Complete engagement with all project stakeholders including Customers, Engineers, Production, 3rd party vendors, and Management.
  • Accept overall quality, financial and schedule responsibility of assigned projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects.
