Job Description

Reports to Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

  • Lead & drives functional excellence in engineering solution, provide knowledge base, services and technical understanding for the "Electrical components" as per the industry standards and its regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all aspect of project life cycle from pre-sale proposal support, Engineering and site support.
  • Organize and schedule job tasks with your team.
  • Provides leadership to the assigned team & Drive Productivity.
  • Passionate about leading people and work on their development.
  • Manage Global partner including the regional solution teams or Global Program Managers.
  • Design and implement complex system requirements for customers and/or prepare study and analyze existing systems. Determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Deliver & complete the assigned projects on time with good quality/ cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate application & technical expertise to achieve repeat order and retain customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to take on challenging tasks and be a solution provider to internal & external team members & industry team on solutions.
  • Keep improving self-engineering capabilities and exchange best practice with team to improve team's capabilities.
  • Lead technical implementation in whole life cycle of project delivery.
  • Collaborate & work with Technical Lead / SMEs to clarify technical issues and share workloads.
  • Strong knowledge of CREO, ACAD, and SAP/PLM Experience
  • Understanding and apply engineering standards ASME, NEMA, IEC
  • Ability to present solution to the partners and coordinate development tasks with team members.
  • Work with PM for scope management, deliver execution plans & effectively monitor the execution with good quality, cost effectiveness, customer acceptance and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Global Program Managers and PM for WBS development.
  • Develop robust quality process & ensure strict adherence.
  • Work closely & guide the proposal team for timely support on estimation and proposal delivery.
  • Ensure project implementation follows the standard procedures.
  • Drive project cost reduction through continuous process improvement, by applying and maximizing reusable engineering standards in project delivery.
  • Drive business growth & strengthen foot-print of GEBS.
  • Work for optimizing procurement processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support in AOP planning
  • Ensure that all audits (internal/external) are adequately documented, and risk are dealt in a timely manner.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for increased engagement, seek feedback on deliverables and to improve overall engagement.
  • Ensures deliverables provided by the GEBS are delivered within exceptional good quality on time and on budget with high levels of Internal Customer Satisfaction.
  • Manage use of all resources and ensure accurate capacity planning.
  • Manage resources and to assign right skills to the work.

Job Related Competencies

  • Project Engineers have several skills to perform all facets of the project from start to end (Project Management, Mechanical Design/Drafting, Customer Communication, etc.)
  • Review with the customer on his requirements and propose technical solutions that will make the project successful.
  • Perform new design or modify existing designs in Creo Parametric based on electromechanical principles.
  • Must be very good hands on 2D & 3D ACAD, CREO software's and have a knowledge of SAP/PLM (Windchill)
  • Hands on knowledge for CAE / Analysis software like ANSYS
  • Understanding of Product lifecycle management.
  • Provide complete CAD models required of all parts and assemble to produce the finished product.
  • Experience with common manufacturing processes applicable for Sheetmetal, plastic and knowledge of PPAP
  • GD&T/ASME Y14.5, tolerance stack-up, design verification and analysis methods, Welding process and DFMEA.
  • Experience with product sealing, Ingress protection and other electromechanical regulatory testing standards like IEC/NEMA.
  • Drives design decisions and is comfortable working as the sole mechanical contributor as part of a much larger engineering team.
  • Lead a small team and address technical queries.
  • Ensure technical deliverables matches project / work package requirements. Save engineering cost for GEC team through application & technical expertise.
  • Update designs of components and subsystems to improve manufacturability, performance, quality, and cost

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Production/Automobiles Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation based Mechanical Design
  • Working knowledge of Drives, PLC & MCC System Designing
  • Should have gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning.
  • Knowledge of AB Hardware & Quality Management Systems & Review.
