Job Description

Summary:

Reporting to our Plant Manager, you will develop, implements, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. Help review engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assist product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Principles responsibilities:

  • Design strategy and monitoring tools to ensure and achieve compliance with our goals and standards regarding cost, quality and customer service.
  • Organize and assure quality models through process control systems and methods to maintain the quality level of world class products.
  • Overview and keep tracking of production line's performance regarding manufacturing defects (OQA, Service, Scrap, IRR & RTYL indicators).
  • Provide the quality and production team with recommendations of procedures and solutions for improving the processes within their lines from a quality point of view.
  • Manage the Plant's Quality System providing a framework for operations performance, reliable service and continuous improvement in compliance with the ISO 9001 Standard.
  • Develop systems to maintain reports and records of our products performance in manufacturing while complying with product & system Quality certifications.
  • Administer Plant's Training Program, developing and providing follow up to the execution of the trainings required for our employees at all levels with the purpose of providing them with the appropriate tools to help them develop their job skills.
  • Guide individuals and the team to improve in main operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
  • Establish measures to lead efficiency across the entire quality perspective to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and reduce product lead time.
  • Establish and maintain collaboration with SQE and Product Quality as liaison, creating the appropriate schedule to monitor external customer and supplier quality issues.
  • Contribute to process design, focusing on doing things right the first time, therefore inspection elimination when applicable.
  • Coordinate the effectiveness of quality process controls to ensure product quality levels that meet design specifications and customer expectations.
  • You will manage the cause and action plan for quality and process audit findings, audit findings and customer complaints, using problem resolution tools to follow up to correct the deficiency and prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitor internal functions and compliance with ISO standard, local procedures to ensure that documentation provided is complete, correct and submitted.
  • You will Participate with the manager and department supervisor of the different areas in identifying the training needs of the positions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or other relative career with Master/Post graduate degree (Operations, Productivity or Quality Management Field desirable).
  • Desirable: Quality System audit certification, Lean or Six Sigma certification. Design for - Manufacturing and Design for Cost methodologies.
  • 5 + years of experience in Quality Systems, performance, evaluation and monitoring of related metrics, process improvements and implementation of procedures to improve quality and productivity to reduce product costs.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools (Lean Manufacturing) and project management.
  • Advanced knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel (can perform complex functions), PowerPoint).
