Your Mission

As part of Nuvei’s global growth and specifically its current expansion to LATAM, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager level who will work closely with all major Schemes (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Prosa, Local Schemes, China Union Pay) and a range of their Products and Solutions in developing and cementing Nuvei’s partnerships and growth trajectory in this key region. This individual will work closely across all Schemes on ongoing communication related to mandates, new releases, rules, and compliance requirements. To build the scheme rules program for our products and services within the Card Scheme environment to all providers. Identify Scheme opportunities and align Nuvei resources to pursue these opportunities across all markets in each region Nuvei operates within. This role will also support our market entry across the region and cover a range of countries. Initially, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. This individual will coordinate with Nuvei Acquiring Development team and ensure that projects are on schedule, meet the local requirements, and provide Nuvei with a competitive advantage. Finally, this role will align with Nuvei’s Financial Institutions team ensuring smooth relationships with our local and regional banks.

You will have extensive payment industry knowledge and experience, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, to work with various cross-functional teams and ensure the scheme rules are implemented swiftly and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding Visa/MasterCard scheme rules and regulations, bulletins and changes, translating them into clear requirements ready to be implemented by the relevant personnel.
  • Regularly communicating internally regarding the scheme requirements to existing/new products and supporting their implementation. The cross functional environment will include working with Acquiring Development, technology, compliance, legal, pricing, operations, and sales teams.
  • Understand the Scheme and Financial Institutions key objective and align resources to partner with Schemes on winning opportunities.
  • Keeping abreast with compliance requirements which arise from third-parties, including advising on any changes to our policies, procedures and controls through validation and implementation.
  • Liaising with the product teams to build a product that delivers a great user experience whilst also ensuring we meet scheme requirements and deliver good excellent outcomes for customers/markets.
  • Ensuring that risk management processes and controls for payment services products are robust, with regular assessment, and any notifications are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Identifying and implementing any regulatory challenges and changes to payment services products.
  • Liaising with key internal (e.g. Development, Legal, Risk, MLRO etc) and external (e.g. Regulators, advisors, vendors, partners etc) stakeholders as required
  • Developing and managing the scheme compliance monitoring plan
  • Producing scheme reports and management information with regular updates.
  • Build and solidify our relationships with other Acquirers, local schemes, and PayFac players.
  • 4+ years of experience within the payments / Fintech industry while demonstrating strong knowledge of the payment space, especially acquiring and/or major schemes such as Visa/MC, is a plus.
  • The role requires strong attention to detail and a profound focus on execution.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can convey clear messages to internal and external executives.
  • Knowledge of the payments space and all key players including issuers, acquirers, merchants, PayFac, Acquirers, Financial Institutions, and networks.
  • Capable of managing card scheme rules from identification and inception to implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience of the regulatory requirements relating to payment services.
  • Knowledge of interconnecting regulations, such as the Interchange Fee Regulations.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Proficiency in English and Portuguese as a plus.
