As part of Nuvei’s global growth and specifically its current expansion to LAC, AP, and other markets, we are seeking a seasoned Manager who will work closely with all major Schemes (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Local Schemes, China Union Pay) in developing and cementing Nuvei’s partnerships in this key region. This individual will work closely across all Schemes on ongoing communication related to mandates, new releases, rules, and compliance requirements. To build the scheme rules program for our products and services within the Card Scheme environment to all providers. The role will focus on addressing the Scheme’s needs and requirements globally. In addition, the Manager will be tasked with identifying Scheme opportunities and aligning Nuvei resources to pursue these opportunities across all markets in each region Nuvei operates within. This role will support our market entry across the regions and assist the local sales team in ensuring full coordination with relevant schemes to that specific region. The role involves significant operational and technical know-how which are critical to smooth operation and increasing Nuvei's share across markets. This role will cover scheme initiatives globally and report to the Senior Director of Global Schemes.

You will have extensive payment industry knowledge and experience with excellent interpersonal skills to work with various cross functional teams in ensuring the scheme rules are implemented swiftly and in a timely manner. Understanding how Schemes operate and ability to “get things done” is critical to this global role. Know and understanding of the banking/financial institutions landscape, although not required, is a significant plus.


  • Understanding Visa/MasterCard scheme rules and regulations, bulletins, and changes, translating them into clear requirements ready to be implemented by the relevant personnel.
  • Regularly communicating internally regarding the scheme requirements to existing/new products and supporting their implementation. The cross-functional environment will include working with technology, compliance, legal, pricing, operations, and sales teams.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment that consolidates Schemes, Development, Operational, and Treasury/Banking, to ensure that we work in concert in deepening and cementing our market position.
  • Understand the Scheme and Financial Institutions' key objectives and align resources to partner with Schemes on winning opportunities.
  • Keeping abreast with the compliance requirements that arise from third parties, including advising on any changes to our policies, procedures, and controls through validation and implementation.
  • Liaising with the product teams to build a product that delivers a great user experience whilst also ensuring we meet scheme requirements and deliver good excellent outcomes for customers/markets.
  • Ensuring that risk management processes and controls for payment services products are robust, with regular assessment, and any notifications are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing and managing scheme compliance monitoring plan with Nuvei Risk team
  • Producing scheme reports and management information with regular updates.


  • 3+ years experience within the payments / Fintech industry while demonstrating strong knowledge of the payment space, especially acquiring and/or major schemes such as Visa/MC, is a plus.
  • The role requires strong attention to detail and a profound focus on execution.
  • Understanding of the payment landscape including processing, acquiring, operational, and banking/financial institutions background are needed to ensure we are unified and speak in one voice as we enter a new market.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can convey clear messages to internal and external executives.
  • Knowledge of the payments space and all key players including issuers, acquirers, merchants, PayFac, Acquirers, Financial Institutions, and networks.
  • Managing external provider, Kajo, to consolidate all schemes mandates, VBNs, and announcements.
  • Strong Excel and overall Microsoft skills.
