Nureva is seeking an acoustic engineer experienced in advanced audio to join our development team and help expand our evolving audio product line. As the ideal candidate, you enjoy exploring new technologies and are well-versed in bringing hardware products to market. Your broad experience with acoustic systems gives you the skills to take a concept from requirement analysis and design through to implementation, manufacturing and deployment.

You take ownership of your deliverables and take pride in the knowledge that your designs will have an impact on end-users.

You will

  • Work with product management, engineering, industrial design, and audio quality testing teams to produce innovative acoustic designs
  • Design and simulate innovative mechanical acoustic enclosures for output and pickup of audio
  • Work with the project team to recommend hardware solutions to complement Nureva’s advanced audio algorithms, addressing customer and market requirements
  • Create and maintain design documentation
  • Develop design test plans and tools to verify system performance and quality, and work with NPI to support volume manufacturing
  • Support and contribute to Nureva’s evolving end-to-end product development processes by applying relevant best practices to ensure consistent delivery of quality products
  • Maintain a comprehensive awareness of the technology landscape and identify opportunities for future product portfolio enhancements

You have

  • A bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics, mechanical engineering, material sciences, acoustics, mathematics, or electrical engineering
  • The ability to apply creativity and foundational engineering principles with hands-on execution to effectively solve acoustic system design problems
  • 5+ years of experience with loudspeaker system design for small enclosures, including porting techniques, passive radiator design and vibration analysis and management.
  • Experience with consumer and/or enterprise grade product design a plus
  • Experience with microphone acoustic design and placement including dynamic, condenser and MEMs capsules. Experience with mic arrays a plus.
  • Experience with electro-acoustic loss and acoustic system design with close coupling of microphones with loudspeaker elements
  • Experience with acoustic test measurement techniques and equipment, including anechoic chamber measurements
  • Experience with psychoacoustics and room acoustics, and the subjective performance of acoustic devices in enclosed spaces. Experience with spatial audio techniques a plus
  • Experience with system modeling including FEM and BEM techniques, and loudspeaker design software
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal and communications skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
