The Role
The Senior IT Operations Specialist is responsible for operating, maintaining, and continuously improving the platforms and workflows that enable Axonifiers to do their best work. This role goes beyond day-to-day support — the Senior IT Operations Specialist develops deep expertise in assigned systems including identity, device management, and SaaS platforms, and is expected to think like builders, identifying opportunities to automate manual work, improve operational workflows, and contribute to a more scalable and reliable IT environment.
The Senior IT Operations Specialist brings a systems mindset to their work, using AI tools deliberately and consistently to improve the quality and efficiency of what they deliver, and contributing to the team's collective capability by sharing learnings and experimenting with new approaches. This role plays a meaningful part in how Axonify approaches technology operations — not just keeping things running, but making them better.
What You’ll Build
- Administer and maintain core IT platforms including identity provider (Okta) and MDM systems, developing a solid understanding of how each system works from an admin perspective to support reliable day-to-day operations.
- Resolve technical issues across devices, operating systems, platforms, and network connectivity, working independently to troubleshoot and resolve most issues and escalating appropriately to IT leadership when complexity or impact warrants it.
- Support the employee technology lifecycle including onboarding and offboarding, ensuring employees are set up and deprovisioned securely and efficiently, and continuously improving these workflows to reduce manual effort and improve the employee experience.
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities within areas of ownership, and independently design and build solutions using tools such as Zapier or similar platforms, escalating proposals that extend beyond current scope to IT leadership.
- Apply a systems mindset to recurring issues and operational challenges, investigating root causes and considering downstream impacts across platforms rather than resolving issues in isolation.
- Contribute to IT initiatives of basic to medium complexity, seeking guidance at key decision points and driving assigned work through to completion.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in assigned platforms and tools, supporting implementation, employee onboarding, and day-to-day operations, and serving as the internal point of contact for questions within those areas.
- Use AI tools consistently across all aspects of the role including communications, troubleshooting, documentation, and brainstorming, and actively explore and experiment with automation and agentic workflows to reduce manual work.
- Contribute to the team's AI capability by sharing learnings, experimenting with new tools and approaches, and helping position the IT team as a leader in effective and responsible AI usage across the organization.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation to support operational consistency, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, communicating clearly and escalating thoughtfully when risk or organizational impact calls for it.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of progressive experience in an IT role in a professional environment, with demonstrated responsibility for administering and supporting enterprise IT systems.
- Demonstrated experience administering core IT platforms such as identity providers (e.g., Okta), MDM solutions (e.g., JumpCloud, Kandji), and SaaS tooling in a corporate environment.
- Experience supporting macOS and Windows environments, including troubleshooting non-standard or complex scenarios across devices, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Solid working knowledge of productivity and collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365.
- Experience contributing to initiatives of basic to medium complexity, incorporating feedback and completing assigned work with appropriate guidance and support.
- Familiarity identifying and implementing process improvements or automation workflows, with exposure to tools such as Zapier, scripting, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated and consistent use of AI-powered tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Google Gemini to improve the quality and efficiency of day-to-day work, with a curiosity and drive to explore more advanced applications including automation and agentic workflows.
- Solid working knowledge of desktop networking concepts including TCP/IP and LAN-based troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of IT security practices and endpoint protection tools such as antivirus and EDR solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate root causes, consider downstream impacts, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes, while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including staying current with emerging technologies, AI tools, and evolving ways of working.

AI at Axonify
We believe AI should help people do their best work, not replace the human judgment, creativity, and connection that make us who we are. AI is a tool we use to learn fast, elevate our craft, and focus on the work that truly creates impact. That shows up in our hiring process too.
We use AI-assisted tools to create a smoother, more organized, and ultimately more human candidate experience. These tools allow our team to spend more time on real conversations and thoughtful decision-making, the things that matter.
What AI doesn’t do at Axonify is make hiring decisions. Every decision is made by real people, using real judgment and grounded in our values.
Here’s what that means for you as a candidate:
- Feel free to use AI to support your thinking - not replace it. We use AI to learn and level up, and you can too.
- Be open about how you use AI if asked. Transparency helps us understand your process and how you approach problem-solving.
- Stay authentic. We’re hiring people, not prompts, your ideas, your experiences, and your voice are what matter.
Diversity & Accessibility
We believe our team’s unique experiences, backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and abilities add richness to our culture and depth to our ideas. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion creates an environment that supports, empowers, and delivers a sense of belonging for all team members.
