THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, the Operations Project Manager supports a variety of departmental objectives as defined by the Manager, Strategic Sourcing. This role requires strong collaboration and clear communication across departments. Success is measured by the effective introduction of product and process changes, ensuring operational readiness and alignment.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Serve as the primary Manufacturing Operations point of contact for all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring operational readiness and seamless product launches.
  • Lead operations deliverables within the phase-gate development process, aligning cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
  • Coordinate prototype material requirements and support production process development, ensuring timely availability and manufacturability of new designs.
  • Prepare supply chain and production teams for new product ramp-up, through capacity planning, resource allocation, and training.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) impacting production, ensuring effective implementation with minimal disruption.
  • Oversee material and process ramp-down for End-of-Life (EOL) products, including inventory disposition and resource reallocation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Operations, Product Management, and Sales to prioritize and implement new production or customer requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain process optimization to maintain compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks related to material availability, capacity, and process readiness during NPI and EOL transitions.
  • Conduct cost analysis and support cost-optimization initiatives for new product introductions and lifecycle management.
  • Engage with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of prototype and production materials, resolving supply chain constraints.
  • Oversee process validation and documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) to ensure regulatory and quality compliance (non-medical products).
  • Drive change management and training initiatives to support ECO implementation and new process adoption across production teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce lead times, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to NPI readiness, production yield, and ramp timelines to leadership.
  • Provide customer-facing support for audits and inquiries related to manufacturing readiness and quality compliance.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Operations, NPI and /or Supply Chain experience, leveraging hands-on expertise to drive operational readiness, enhance cross-functional alignment, and ensure successful product launches.
  • Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 electronics manufacturing environment or ISO 13485 environment.
