Role Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator will play a key role in the administration, monitoring, support, and optimization of on-premise and SaaS-based IT systems following industry best practices and regulatory guidelines. Reporting to the Director, Global IT & Cyber Security, this position will also monitor and recommend new developments in server, cyber security, and cloud infrastructure technology.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Provide systems administration and technical support for on-premise and SaaS-based enterprise systems.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and 2nd\3rd tier support to NDI personnel in office, remote, and home locations.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
- Perform regular system updates, patching, and optimization to minimize downtime and security risks.
- Liaise with internal Enterprise Systems and R&D Infrastructure teams to analyze requirements, configuration, and system performance to ensure they meet business and user needs.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect company data from cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to IT security policy and data privacy.
- Monitor new developments in server, cyber security, and cloud infrastructure technology.
- Participate in and monitor the execution of IT and cyber security projects from conception to post-implementation.
- Develop and execute appropriate implementation plans.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with the internal IT team and other cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and provide training to end users when necessary.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT systems administration or a similar technical role.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise-class systems in a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.
Desired Characteristics/Additional Assets:
- In-depth understanding of backend administration and support of enterprise-class server systems, such as ALM, CRM, ERP, PLM, and QMS, in a change-controlled environment.
- In-depth understanding of modern server, virtualization (VMware vCenter\ESXi), infrastructure, and cloud-based technologies.
- Understanding of modern cyber security systems and best practices (MDR, Identity, Zero Trust).
- Experience with the Atlassian suite, Aras, Polarion, Epicor, Microsoft 365, or MS-SQL Server an asset.
- Knowledge of the CIS and\or NIST frameworks or equivalent industry best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
- Self-starter with exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
