What We’re Looking For

Northern is seeking an Adobe Analytics Engineer (Contractor) to support, maintain, and enhance digital data collection and marketing technology integrations across web properties. The role centers on Adobe Experience Cloud with a focus on Adobe Analytics and Adobe Launch, robust data layer governance, and privacy compliance via OneTrust. You will act as a strategic advisor, implement and optimize tagging, and ensure consistent, accurate data across multiple applications.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Implement and optimize global digital data collection, including scalable data layer design and governance
  • Own Adobe Launch implementation, governance, and process improvements; integrate various marketing technologies via the TMS of record
  • Configure and maintain Adobe Analytics (variables, events, classifications, processing rules, link tracking) and validate server calls
  • Provide strategic guidance to ensure consistent integrations and standards across multiple applications
  • Design, build, test, and deploy tagging solutions and MarTech integrations using JavaScript and related web technologies
  • Troubleshoot and validate tagging and data flows using tools such as Charles or Fiddler, browser dev tools, and automated testing frameworks
  • Support and enable MarTech integrations (e.g., Adobe Target, Adobe Audience Manager, AEM, Google Ads/Remarketing, Medallia, OpinionLab, Google Analytics, Tableau, Data Sentinel, ObservePoint)
  • Ensure privacy compliance: configure and operate OneTrust, map cookies to categories, and assess privacy impacts for new technologies
  • Monitor and maintain tracking health with enterprise tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Tivoli, ObservePoint) and collaborate with engineering/ops as needed
  • Deliver clear implementation specs, tracking plans, and documentation; provide weekly status updates and maintain a strategic roadmap
  • Work within Agile Scrum/Kanban; manage work via JIRA/Confluence/Asana; partner closely with developers, QA, product, and legal/privacy stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years hands-on experience with Adobe Analytics and enterprise Tag Management Systems (Adobe Launch required; Tealium/Ensighten/GTM a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills; familiarity with Java; working knowledge of SQL and at least one of R/Python for data validation and analysis
  • Proven experience designing and governing data layers and digital data collection standards
  • Experience implementing and validating MarTech/AdTech pixels and CX tools (e.g., Google Ads/Remarketing, Medallia, OpinionLab)
  • Practical knowledge of privacy and consent management with OneTrust, including cookie categorization and deployment workflows
  • Proficient with debugging and QA tools: Charles, Fiddler, browser dev tools; automated testing with Selenium or similar
  • Exposure to monitoring/observability platforms (Splunk, AppDynamics, Tivoli) and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Asana)
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery experience
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud components: AEM, Adobe Target, Adobe Audience Manager; Adobe Workbench familiarity an asset
  • Web tech and tooling: Node.js, Angular, jQuery, Dojo, PhantomJS, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Postman, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ an asset
  • Data platforms: Netezza, Hadoop, MongoDB; QA and audit tools like ObservePoint; reporting/BI with Tableau an asset
  • Customer feedback/voice-of-customer tools and tag governance frameworks an asset

Compensation & Tools

We’re looking for independent contractors to join our team and contribute to exciting, high-impact projects. Compensation will be based on your proposed rate, relevant skills, experience, and market alignment. Contractors are responsible for providing their own tools and equipment needed to perform the work. Payment will be issued within 30 days of receiving a valid invoice.
