Location: Yonge and Bloor Office

Type: 4 month Internship (May to August - with options to start early and extend into September) (full-time - 37.5hrs/week) We host evening events so flexible hours are required.

Rate: $20/hour

Role overview and purpose:

The Program Intern’s primary responsibility is to support the programs team and the cohorts. This public-facing role works closely with cohort participants (founders, prospective applicants, and members of the NEXT Canada staff. Your mission is to ensure NEXT is delivering world class accelerator and incubator programs and going above and beyond to help our founders succeed not only in the program, but also beyond with their ventures.

This internship will allow you to work with an incredible and dynamic multi-lingual and cultural team. You will be able to sit in on classes conducted by Harvard and University of Toronto Business professors, watch new businesses evolve and be a key part of a creative and innovative eco-system. Most importantly, you will be helping business leaders of tomorrow. This is an inspiring and fun place to be at this time in history at the edge of the next technological revolution: AI.

Key responsibilities:

In this role you will play a key role in supporting the day to day activities of the programs team including but not limited to:

  • Supporting with program administrative duties
  • Supporting program initiatives dedicated to founders, mentors, investors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Researching ecosystem trends
  • Updating and evolving salesforce and airtable program databases
  • Event support - onsite support for various program events including guest talks, workshops and socials, classes, and major events
  • Tracking guest lists and attendance, preparing event materials
  • Tracking ventures across the three programs and assisting the programs team with data collection
  • Supporting alumni engagement initiatives
  • Recruitment prospecting, identifying pipeline partners, building out prospect lists and supporting recruitment related events.
  • Scheduling, creating and posting on social media accounts
  • Update biopacks for ventures, faculty and key stakeholders
  • Market research on incubator and accelerator programs
  • Website updates

Successful candidates will possess some of the following qualities:

  • Passionate about the startup community
  • Passion for helping others
  • Studying at a college or University in a related field preferably in a cooperative program.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Social Media and website management skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and can manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated good judgment and choices
  • Demonstrated extreme organization and attention to detail
  • Experience using Google Suite, Excel, and Word mandatory.
  • Experience using Air Table and Salesforce preferable
  • Previous experience in the entrepreneurship/accelerator ecosystem a plus
