Energy Made Visible™— MyHeat acquires thermal data for entire cities and reveals the energy escaping from every building. The MyHeat customer engagement platform informs, educates, and motivates people to act on reducing waste energy and greenhouse gas emissions. The technology was developed at the University of Calgary over five years with over $1 million in funding and was awarded the Climate CoLab Grand Prize by MIT. Governments and utilities across the globe have an incentive to reduce the energy consumption of their customers, both to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets and as an alternative to commissioning new power generation. The most cited obstacle to energy efficiency is the lack of interest from consumers. By making waste energy visible, MyHeat provides the means to engage utility customers and initiate action on building energy efficiency. MyHeat sells a SaaS service to utilities, and for the price of a postage stamp or two per year, can deliver a web-based energy efficiency solution.
