Are you a visionary technology leader with a passion for transforming healthcare through innovation? We invite you to become a Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at My Well Self (https://www.mywelf.ca)
*About My Well Self *
My Well Self is a start up with a digital health solution that is committed to improving productivity and health satisfaction through guided health evaluations and personalized health prevention strategies.
The company vision is to expedite access to personalized preventative treatment, improve health quality of life and make a significant impact of unburdening the health system.
Over the past 18 months, the organization has grown from the founder's vision to a team dedicated to keeping the world healthy, happy and well. Our team now requires experienced executive-level technology guidance as we set out to define and build our road map for the future. That's where and how you can help us.
About The Position
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to guide the technological direction of our company.
As our CTO, you will play a pivotal role in our executive team by developing and implementing a strategic technological vision that aligns with our business objectives and drives growth. You will lead our technology team, oversee technological research and development, and ensure our technical operations are efficient and secure.
Here are some key contributions of the CTO/technical co-founder we are looking for:
Technical Expertise: This is the core of what the CTO will bring to this startup. You should have a deep understanding of the technology landscape and the specific tech stack that the company is built on. You are expected to make important decisions about the architecture, tools, and standards used in building the company's products or services.
Vision and Strategy: A good CTO doesn't just think about the technology the company uses today, but also the technology it will need in the future. You need to be able to envision how technology will evolve and how it will affect the company's product, and then build a tech strategy to match that vision.
Team Building and Leadership: A CTO is often responsible for building and managing the technical team. This includes hiring, mentoring, and creating a productive work environment for engineers and other technical staff. Leadership skills are therefore just as important as technical skills for a CTO with our startup.
Product Development: The CTO will be deeply involved in product development to turn the company's vision into a tangible product. You need to understand customer needs, business goals, and how to balance those with technical feasibility and scalability.
Operational Efficiency: The CTO should be adept at project management and resource allocation. They should understand how to maintain efficiency, meet deadlines, and stay within budget while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Communication: As a member of the founding team, the CTO needs to be an effective communicator. You should be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders. You’ll also often be involved in fundraising, where you'll need to convince investors of the soundness of our tech strategy.
Security and Compliance: The CTO needs to be deeply familiar with relevant security standards and privacy regulations. You’re often the person ultimately responsible for ensuring the company's technology complies with all necessary rules and that customer data is safe.
Innovation: Last but not least, the CTO will be expected to drive innovation. This might involve staying up-to-date on the latest technologies, fostering a culture of experimentation and learning within the tech team, or partnering with other companies on tech initiatives.
About You:
You are a forward-thinking, highly entrepreneurial individual and strategic leader that is comfortable in a start-up environment.
You have a deep understanding of technological trends and their application in a business context, preferably within the healthcare space.
You have a solid technical background and demonstrate strategic planning, team leadership, and project management expertise. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for various stakeholders.
Additionally, you have an innovative mindset and the ability to foster a culture of innovation in a team, combined with the pragmatism to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget. Your track record showcases your ability to guide a company's technological vision and strategy, resulting in tangible business growth and efficiency.
Work Location:
In person (Greater Toronto area, Ontario) and/or remote (Canada)
