Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to drive business decisions, while also overseeing the calculation, tracking, and management of sales commissions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and HR, to ensure accurate and timely commission payments. The ideal candidate will have a very strong attention to detail, analytical skills, financial modeling, and an in-depth experience and understanding of commission structures and calculating complex commissions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Commission Management:
    • Lead the calculation and processing of monthly commission payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Manage commission structures, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
    • Develop and maintain commission tracking models and systems.
    • Partner with the Sales team to ensure commission plans are clearly communicated and understood.
    • Analyze commission costs and their impact on financial performance, identifying opportunities for optimization.
    • Support the design and modification of incentive plans to align with strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:
    • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions.
    • Develop financial models, forecasts, and BI dashboards to analyze trends, performance, and growth opportunities.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
  • Business Partnering:
    • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to align financial insights with business strategy.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to CRO, CFO, and senior leadership on financial and commission-related matters.
    • Lead financial projects, including process improvements, data management, and system implementations.
    • Work closely with Sales and Product teams to establish pricing that aligns with company strategy while maximizing profitability.
  • Compliance & Controls:
    • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls related to commissions and reporting.
    • Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting; 3+ years in commission management.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
    • Experience with financial systems and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, SQL, Power BI).
    • Strong understanding of commission structures, sales compensation plans, and related financial implications.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
