- Troubleshooting control system components and circuits on field systems, prioritizing product availability for customers.
- Providing training and procedures to the broader Field Services team on electrical troubleshooting.
- Analyzing sub-system wiring diagrams for power distribution, fuse load, grounding system layout and wire harness drawings.
- Adapting product support strategies to rapidly changing hardware and software designs.
- Supporting build quality, manufacturing and assembly issues during prototype and production stages.
- Bench calibration and commissioning of sensors, control devices and system assemblies.
- Recording and prioritizing product design feedback based on field data.
- Contributing to documentation for the technical product knowledge base.
- Additional duties as required by your Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic Controls, or Mechatronics engineering, registered P.Eng / EIT or eligible for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists BC.
- Minimum 2-4 years experience as an electrical or electronics control engineer.
- Experience troubleshooting control panels, mobile heavy equipment, and automotive systems.
- Experience with PLC or embedded system programming.
- Experience on Ethernet networking and industrial communication protocols (i.e. Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish language fluency is an asset.
- IEC programming experience is an asset.
- Experience in a customer support / service environment is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours with on call availability to support our 24-hour service desk.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
