We are looking to add a Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer to our Product Development team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Team Lead Electrical Engineering, the Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer is responsible for design and development of Electrical and Electronic components and systems. An ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter that enjoys developing innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and validation of Electrical assemblies and electronic circuits.
  • Owning the component selection, schematic capture and PCB layout of digital and analog electronic circuits and power supplies.
  • Architecting the electrical assemblies and board-level designs and integration of OEM modules into the company products.
  • Contributing as the “Electrical Reference” when working in cross-functional teams.
  • Creating standard documentation for internal and external parties.
  • Prototyping the first articles and troubleshooting the designs.
  • Working with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
  • Actively participating in design reviews.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis of failures and DFM activities.
  • Meet the schedule and quality requirements for all project deliverables.
  • Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and engineering co-ops.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience as Electrical Engineer preferably in Product Development
  • Hands on experience with testing equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, electronic load, and signal generators
  • Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with CAD tools for circuit design (Altium or Orcad) and 3D assembly designs (Eplan or AutoCAD)
  • Experience with embedded electronics and embedded programming is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with attention to details
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to work independently and in teams
  • Health & Safety conscious individual
  • Legally able to work in Canada
The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted. We are in growth mode and are looking for talented folks at all levels, so please do not hesitate to apply.
