This role is remote within Atlantic Canada

Milk Moovement is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Operations team. In this role, you will work with the Strategy & Finance Manager to support financial reporting, planning & budgeting, as well as other accounting initiatives. THE ROLE

Here are some of the required responsibilities of the Junior. Accountant role at Milk Moovement:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice verification, and timely processing.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, utilizing Excel for data manipulation, formula creation, and report generation.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper financial documentation and compliance with accounting standards.

• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities.

• Support the accounting team in day-to-day administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and record keeping.

• Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Milk Moovement seeks a diverse, inclusive, team-oriented, and curiosity-driven herd. Our Finance team lives up to our core values and ensures they are present in every decision. You will likely have 2+ years of accounting or finance experience with financial reporting, planning, and budgeting processes but working in the dairy industry is not required! We will teach you all there is to know about the industry via our intro to dairy 101 course and monthly dairy 411 sessions. Dairy is more complicated than you think. That is why we do what we do! Here’s what else we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks for financial recordkeeping and transaction processing.

• Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create formulas, manipulate data, and generate reports.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines effectively.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Prior experience with general administrative tasks is a plus.
