Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Medical Device Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and mechanical design, with expertise in electronic board design and a multidisciplinary approach to product development. This role requires hands-on experience in design, prototyping, production planning, and procurement to bring innovative medical devices to market.

Qualifications & Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Electronics Design:

    • Strong experience in designing electronic circuits and PCB layouts.

    • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent).

    • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power management, and sensor integration.

    • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware development.

  • Mechanical Design:

    • Solid understanding of mechanical components and enclosure design for medical devices.

    • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks).

    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, CNC machining, and 3D printing.

  • Production & Procurement:

    • Experience with supplier selection and component sourcing.

    • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

    • Ability to work with contract manufacturers and oversee production processes.

  • Regulatory & Compliance:

    • Familiarity with medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1).

    • Understanding of risk assessment and verification/validation testing.

Soft Skills & Work Approach:

  • Multitasking & Project Management:

    • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, from design to production.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including software developers, clinicians, and manufacturing partners.

    • Strong documentation skills for technical reports, BOMs, and regulatory compliance.

  • Innovation & Attention to Detail:

    • A proactive mindset to improve design efficiency and reduce costs.

    • Attention to detail in quality control and performance optimization.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in medical device design or related fields.

  • Prior experience in designing, prototyping, and launching new medical devices.

  • Experience with wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) and sensor integration is a plus.

  • Knowledge of biomechanics, optics, or imaging technologies is advantageous.
