THE POSITION
We’re hiring a Public Affairs Manager to join our Communications team. As Public Affairs Manager, you will shape Maple’s public perception, focusing on thought leadership, public affairs, and in-depth narratives and messaging that reinforce Maple’s authority in virtual care. Your work will help elevate Maple’s brand, positioning it as a leader in healthcare innovation and policy conversations.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the wider Communications team and the wider Marketing team to develop a thought leadership and stakeholder strategy that aligns with Maple’s brand, reputation, objectives and business goals. You’ll oversee the creation, research publishing of high-quality thought leadership content across various formats, including white papers, policy briefs, industry reports, and thought leadership articles. Leveraging insights, data, and industry trends, you will ensure Maple’s content resonates with key stakeholders—including policymakers, partners, media and consumers—while advancing our mission to transform healthcare.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Thought leadership: create compelling, research-driven content that solidifies Maple’s position as a healthcare innovator and trusted policy voice, building credibility with stakeholders across industries.
  • Stakeholder communications: lead the development of content that supports Maple’s Government Relations and Public Affairs efforts, including policy briefs, advocacy materials, and industry reports.
  • Media and issues management: Support proactive and reactive media efforts through research, monitoring, message development, and drafting statements in response to emerging issues.
  • Executive communications and BD enablement: Partner with the Director, Corporate Communications & Government Relations to elevate Maple’s C-Suite and leadership presence across LinkedIn, industry events, and other platforms. Support business development efforts with content and messaging as needed.
  • Content strategy: develop and execute a content roadmap that prioritizes thought leadership, government relations, and industry narratives, aligning with Maple’s overarching marketing and business objectives
  • Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for impactful storytelling and ensure consistency in messaging across platforms.
  • Insights-driven content: use data, policy trends, and market intelligence to inform content creation and optimize its reach and effectiveness across channels.
  • 12-18 MONTH DELIVERABLES
In your first 90 days, you will build foundational relationships across Maple’s Communications and wider Marketing team to deeply understand our voice, brand, and strategic priorities. You'll audit existing content, assess current processes, and identify key opportunities to strengthen Maple's public affairs presence. During this time, you will also contribute to in-flight deliverables such as policy briefs and reports, begin drafting your first pieces of thought leadership, and help align messaging across government relations and brand functions.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, you’ll build a core library of public affairs and thought leadership content that strengthens Maple’s reputation with policymakers, media and partners. You’ll establish a scalable editorial workflow, align messaging across long- and short-form content, and support proactive stakeholder engagement through timely, relevant materials that reflect Maple’s position in the healthcare space. You will build and maintain new external relationships
