What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Corporate Controller who is interested in joining a fast-paced work environment in a rapidly growing company. This management role will involve close collaboration with the Director of Finance to build and enhance the Finance function. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and more. As Corporate Controller, you will lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, ensuring efficient and smooth financial operations. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong financial background and proven leadership skills. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about contributing to the company’s growth, career-driven, and eager to grow within our Finance team.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards (ASPE), and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic objectives.
- Financial Analysis & Strategic Insights: Provide key financial insights and performance metrics to the executive team to support decision-making and business strategy.
- Cash Flow & Tax Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and corporate tax compliance, collaborating with stakeholders on planning and reporting.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Develop and monitor internal controls, and continuously improve financial processes, systems, and operational efficiency.
- Cost Management & Profitability: Analyze cost structures and profitability, implementing strategies to improve margins and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering growth, improving efficiency, and ensuring high performance.
What You Bring
- Relevant Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years in accounting/finance
- CPA or equivalent accounting designation
- Successfully obtained a bachelor’s degree with a focus or major in Business or Accounting/Finance
- Strong knowledge of ASPE, corporate tax, and management accounting.
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Ability to provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership, driving decision-making and supporting business growth and cash flow management.
- Financial Systems & Technical Expertise: Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel, with a solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls & Compliance Expertise: Skilled in developing internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing external reviews/audits.
- Team Management & Development: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders and collaborating across teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex issues, and drive continuous improvement with attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary Band: $95-110K CAD per annum. Individual salaries will be dependent on unique skills, experience and qualifications.
