Role Summary:
The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the accounting and finance functions at Magnet Forensics. This position is responsible for the management of recurring finance responsibilities including GL management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and payroll, as well as financial statement preparation and ongoing compliance management. This role is also involved with creating and maintaining the corporate budget and participating in the strategic planning for the organization.

Role Responsibilities

  • Drive the full cycle of accounting and financial reporting activities for all Magnet Forensics companies including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax provisions and filings, and the period close process
  • Responsible for the timely completion of accurate financial statements in accordance with ASPE to internal stakeholders, and the board of directors
  • Ensure statutory filing obligations for all Magnet Forensics global entities are met including income tax returns and filings, sales and use tax, and withholding and installment payments
  • Prepare analysis, calculations, and entries for global transfer pricing transactions on a monthly basis, as well as ensure policy documentation is current and relevant
  • Manage the annual financial statement audit, and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies and procedures; providing new strategies as required
  • Develop, implement, communicate and maintain all necessary standards, policies and procedures as they relate to financial information and the Company’s overall control environment
  • Contribute to the strategic and tactical planning process, including the development of annual budgets, long term forecasts, cost management strategies, and growth strategies in alignment with the company’s long-term objectives
  • Ensure that all necessary reporting requirements in terms of financial performance are prepared to the highest quality standards and delivered in a consistent and timely manner as required by management
  • Work closely with cross-functional counterparts to deliver insights, and action plans to senior executives
  • Manage the ERP system to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to support the day to day operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree in business or a related field
  • Must possess a CPA designation
  • 8+ years’ work experience in a general Finance role
  • 5+ years’ experience working a software company
  • Strong business acumen
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Excellent attention to details and organizational skills
  • Self- starter attitude
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and Salesforce platforms
