Head of Manufacturing
The Head of Production Manufacturing will assume leadership for our equipment production (electronics and antennas), supply chain including procurement, inventory and internal logistics, and the associated processes. The position will also be responsible for the management of our supplier and manufacturing subcontractor relationships to the highest standards.
Maerospace is looking to hire an experienced individual to consolidate functions currently spread across the organization. Initially, the individual will draw upon existing personnel and outsource parties to complete the work. Over time the company intends to expand its capacity as contracts are signed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning • Develop and maintain a long-term Aggregate Fulfillment Plan with Capacity estimates • Work with Project Management to ensure inventory plans and purchase-to-order plans will provide all required materials on time. • Develop and maintain an allocation system to allocate planned partial assemblies and finished goods to specific customers. • Control and manage product and production part numbers • Support business development in evaluating feasible contract to delivery scenarios during the capture process. • Develop and Maintain Capacity Plan(Master Production Schedule) in coordination with the Executive Management Team.
Supply Chain, Inventory & Logistics • Arrange for and monitor inbound and internal logistics • Lead and control Approved Suppliers list in coordination with Engineering and Finance • Maintain current knowledge of lead times and accurate delivery expectations with suppliers • Negotiate with suppliers on price and lead times • Manage physical inventories in multiple locations • Maintain inventory data
System Assembly (Antennas and Electronics) • Manufacturing subcontractors management • Coordinate schedule with production subcontractors • Coordinate all production deliveries with Engineering (for test, verification, and change management) and project management (for customer and field coordination)
Process and Tool Development • Ensure Compliance with the QMS system and work with the QA manager to improve and expand QMS processes and procedures with the aim of full ISO-9001/2015 certification within 1 year. • Develop and Maintain Production BOMs compatible with Engineering Technology Data Packages • Develop and maintain KPIs for Production (Inventory, Procurement, Procurement forecasting) • Train and educate other employees on Production and Supply Chain management concepts.
Required Skills and Experience: • 5 years of management experience in the Manufacturing industry or similar field • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience • Excellent employee/customer/supplier relationship building skills • Information gathering, critical thinking, and problem analysis skills • Strong execution, attention to detail, and communication skills • Experience with MRP and inventory management software • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office/ Word/ Excel
