Machobear Studio is an established tech start-up based in Vancouver. We are the creators of liv.rent, a platform that connects tenants with landlords (check us out at www.liv.rent and in the App store!)

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled Senior Front-End Developer who thrives on the challenge of creating exceptional user interfaces, integrating front-end solutions, and is eager to deliver high-performing applications.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand build and customize high-performing enterprise web and mobile applications
• Participate in planning sessions to contribute technical insights and recommendations
• Design, develop, and implement front-end solutions for web and mobile applications
• Implement and advocate for best practices in front-end development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
• Debug and troubleshoot front-end issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Lead code refactoring initiatives to improve code quality, readability, and maintainability
• Lead automated testing efforts, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, Cypress, or similar
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

• BSc in Computer Science or BASc in Computer/Software Engineering or a two-year diploma/certificate in computing and software development
• 4+ years of experience in the tech environment
• Experience with ReactJS and React Native
• Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ES6
• Experience working with an existing design system
• Maintaining projects in Git versioning systems
• Experience with analyzing and optimizing page performance and load times
• Worked with MySQL/MariaDB, NodeJs, AWS
• Have a passion in web development and new technologies
• Possess comprehensive proficiency in automated testing
• Proficient in optimizing and debugging code
• Team player with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• Have strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Agile and Scrum process
• Familiarity with design patterns and programming principles and it’s applications

NICE TO HAVE:

• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud services
