Machobear Studio is seeking a Junior QA Engineer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will collaborate closely with our developers to ensure our product is bug-free. We are looking for someone passionate about QA, experienced in both manual and automated testing, with a keen eye for detail.

Who Are We?

Machobear Studios is an established tech start-up based in Vancouver. We are the creators of liv.rent, a platform that connects tenants with landlords (check us out at www.liv.rent and in the App store!). Our mission is to build a trusted rental community and eliminate the stress and uncertainty of renting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with team to outline and document required test cases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and customize automated Functional, API, Acceptance, Unit and Load tests.
• Monitor and guide issues and software bugs life cycle
• Communicate test results and progress to stakeholders and team members

What You Bring Us:

• 1+ years experience testing APIs, JS applications, and single page applications (SPA)
• 1+ years experience with manual and automation testing
• 1+ years experience working in JavaScript
• Experience with Selenium or Playwright
• Have a passion for finding bugs and pointing them out to developers
• BSc in Computer Science or BASc in Computer/Software Engineering or a post-secondary diploma/certificate of two years in computing and software development or relevant experience
• Have been involved in shipping of at least 1-2 web applications
• Team player with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Agile and Scrum process

Bonuses:

• Experience working with other mobile development platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, etc
• Experience working with backend technologies including LAMP, MySQL/MariaDB, NodeJS, and GraphQL/ElasticSearch
• Experience working with cloud providers like AWS and GCP and containerized applications
• Experience with analyzing and optimizing page performance and load times
• Interest and/or experience in security, specifically with penetration testing
