- Research open problems using LLM techniques that can be incorporated into Lydia AI’s solutions for insurance, healthcare, and enterprise automation
- Design and prototype LLM-based agentic systems that automate complex workflows across industries
- Provide technical insights on LLM and other ML models capabilities and limitations to internal stakeholders and external partners
- Analyze and debug ML models to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate with ML Engineers to transition research prototypes into scalable, production-ready systems
- Present your work in internal seminars and represent Lydia AI at industry conferences
- Champion an inclusive, open research culture within the team
- Own problems end-to-end in Lydia AI’s highly ownership-driven environment
- Complete other duties as assigned
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 1 year of industry experience solving applied problems with ML
- Proven track record of publishing in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or related fields
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with major ML and NLP libraries
- R&D experience in LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or agent-based systems
- Experience working in insurance, healthcare, or enterprise automation is a bonus
- Conduct literature reviews to stay at the cutting edge of LLM research and applications
- Prototype new approaches for automating complex processes using LLMs and agentic workflows
- Present model insights and results to Lydia AI leadership or client teams
- Draft and revise academic papers for top-tier conferences
- Work with product teams to align LLM capabilities with business and customer needs
