We’re LumiQ – an audio-first professional education platform for CPAs. We help CPAs get their continuing professional development (CPD) hours through engaging podcasts with business leaders (the CFOs of Slack, Shopify, Yelp, Yahoo!, TD Bank, and Wealthsimple just to name a few). CPD/CPE is the yearly required learning that CPAs generally dread doing. They’re tired of dealing with boring webinars, irrelevant content and product experiences that are out-of-date. That’s why they’ve flocked to LumiQ and our mission to make professional learning enjoyable.
With 600+ companies signed up, and 300% YoY growth, we’re at the precipice of launching a global movement that’s going to massively change the professional education and podcasting industries. We’ve also recently expanded into the US market and we’re seeing wonderful early signs of traction.
LumiQ is experiencing rapid growth as you might expect from a startup at our stage, but we tend not to subscribe to the mantra of “move fast and break things.” Our goal is to build a profitable company where our employees can learn and grow, and where customers see real value and genuinely enjoy using the product. We are building a company meant to last, and if this resonates with you, we hope you will consider joining us on our journey to transform professional education!
Our Finance team is growing fast as we gear up for some major leaps at LumiQ. We’re looking for a Finance Manager who’s ready to help us streamline and supercharge our financial operations. This is the perfect role for someone who is CPA-designated and has 4-5 years of experience. The right candidate for this role thrives in a less structured environment and loves the challenge of developing systems and processes to support the company’s strategic objectives while maintaining strong financial controls and leveraging software, AI, and other tools to make us more efficient. If this sounds like you, drop us a line, we would love to hear from you!

- Drive continuous improvement in the quality of the various financial packages in collaboration with Finance staff, leadership team, and key stakeholders, focusing on clarity, conciseness, and consistency.
- Managingthe implementation and maintenance of new software platforms used within the finance team.

WHO YOU ARE
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation required.
- 4-5 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting.
- Previous experience in a Big Four accounting firm or industry experience in a SAAS company or start-up is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Able to build financial models in excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a diverse environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes.
