Our Special Features are our most ambitious, highest impact, and highest listened-to podcast
episodes on our platform. As a Special Features Producer, with the help of the production team,
you’ll be the driving force behind bringing our high-quality, narrative episodes to life: from
pitching to interviewing guests to scripting and voicing.
Who You Are:
- You have 3-5 years of experience: You have demonstrated experience in long-form, narrative podcasting or documentary-style storytelling. You have experience in producing audio, including pitching, gathering tape, interviewing guests, hosting, editing interviews for content, and working with audio engineers on sound design.
- You are curious: You love going down rabbit holes to understand the full picture. Special Features are deep dives that blend creativity and business insight to engage and inform our audience. You’re able to integrate complex topics (bonus if they’re financial or strategic business concepts) into a narrative.
- You are a skilled storyteller: You’re able to write complex narrative style documentary podcasts. From outlining to scripting, you have a knack for weaving together story and information into a compelling and comprehensible story.
- You are organized: Our narrative episodes have a lot of depth and complexity and we often have several in production at the same time. This means a lot of moving pieces at once, so you must be able to balance projects, set and meet clear deadlines, and clearly communicate project progress.
- You are a team player: You are collaborative and are able to incorporate editorial feedback to help make the best product possible. Experience working with audio engineers to shape impact and story is an asset.
- Familiarity with production tools such as Descript and remote recording platforms is considered an asset.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Episode Development
○ Working with editorial team to research and pitch story ideas
○ Identifying the right angle, scope, and narrative arc for each episode
○ Identifying and enabling learning outcomes that emerge from the narrative i.e.capital allocation, investment strategy, M&A, fraud, etc.
○ Collaborating with the Associate Producer to research and find guests for each episode - Podcast Production
○ Conducting interviews with industry experts and guests with first hand experience
○ Hosting and voicing episodes
○ Integrating interview tape and scripting for maximum clarity and impact
○ Incorporating feedback from editorial team on outline and script drafts
○ Working with Audio Engineers to uphold production quality and sound design that enhances the story and strikes the right tone
