QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced knowledge of building and scaling data infrastructure, including pipeline design, integrations, and modeling (e.g. by using tools like dbt, Snowflake, and Looker, or other prominent tools).
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions around vetting and choosing the appropriate technologies for the business.
- Experience managing data governance and ensuring best-in-class data quality and compliance standards.
- 8-12 years experience building and scaling data or business systems in a SaaS or digital-first environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take a data or business systems function from zero to one.
- Proven track record of successfully scaling and leading a team, with a focus on developing talent and driving performance.
- Exceptional ability to translate technical concepts into clear business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders with sharp business judgment and effective concise communication.
- Strong balance of technical skill and business acumen; comfortable being hands-on yet focused on driving business outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- The implementation and management of the company's business information systems as the company scales.
- Evaluation, design, and implementation of LumiQ's data architecture (warehouse, lakehouse, or hybrid model) to create a scalable foundation for analytics and eporting,
- Defining and enforcing data governance, including metadata standards, access controls, and data hygiene.
- Working with department managers (e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR, Product, Content and Finance) to help facilitate process automation and improve information insights.
- Create and lead a Business Systems department (currently the responsibility is split between various departments).
- Assess the current information systems and make choices around what to invest in, what to upgrade, and what to discard.
- Own and evolve LumiQ’s application stack, data strategy and enterprise reporting infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations that link fragmented systems into a cohesive information ecosystem.
- Lead data quality, governance, and compliance efforts to ensure information integrity and security.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
- Within 6-12 months: establish a single source of truth for key business information, and enable managers to create executive dashboards, transform the primary disparate datasets into an actionable, unified model, accelerating insight delivery for Customer Success, Finance, Product, and Content teams.
- Within 12 months: hire and develop a small, high-performing team to support data engineering, analytics, and business system administration.
- Deliver consistent, timely, and accurate organizational reporting to reduce manual overhead and increase insight speed.
