GlassRatner works with law firms, lenders, private equity sponsors, and companies of all types on complex business challenges such as pursuing a fraud investigation or corporate litigation, planning and executing a major acquisition or divestiture, or managing through a business crisis or bankruptcy. GlassRatner employs approximately 200 team members located across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
We are seeking a full-time Senior Associate in our New York office. This is an in-office position in midtown Manhattan.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Research and documentation of historical financial transactions through access to the client’s general ledger and accounting system
- Analysis of financial statements and preparation of 13-week cash flow forecasts and integrated financial models
- Working with clients to develop business plans, implement and manage business performance, working capital, and cost reduction initiatives
- Utilizing analytical skills and knowledge of finance and operations for various projects in turnaround, restructuring, bankruptcy and performance improvement
- Develop multi-year financial and operational stabilization and turnaround plans
- Assist in case administration and preparation of reports and analysis as required by bankruptcy courts
- Help clients with issues which may include out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, and bankruptcy emergency planning
- Engage with client C-level executives
- Manage multiple projects, take responsibility for project deliverables and ensure quality work product
- Prepare pitch books, financial analysis and background information on distressed companies
- Use problem solving skills to provide alternative explanations to intricate issues
- Effective communication with senior members of the team and clients
- Proactive development of internal and external relationships
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; MBA, CPA, CFA, CIRA, CTP a plus
- 4-8 years’ experience in a controller or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) role
- Experience with different general ledger and/or ERP systems
- Self-starter who takes initiative and also knows when to ask for help
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Team player, with an ability to excel in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize demanding projects
- Understanding of the key operational performance drivers of a business
- Ability to extract helpful information from sets of unorganized or incomplete data
- Proficient use & analysis of financial models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ
- Strong data analytics, data visualization and problem solving skills
- Strong aptitude for qualitative and quantitative analysis and the ability to connect business strategy to performance and due diligence findings
- Must be willing to travel
