PT/Casual Cyber Instructor

Lighthouse Labs (LHL) is currently seeking a Cyber Security Instructor to teach our program online. Through these learning experiences, students gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enter and grow a career in the field of Cyber Security threat analysis, risk management, cyber security standards, policies, and procedures, and exploring Cyber Security fundamentals such as ethical hacking and scanning. This position’s primary role will be to conduct PT classes to cohorts of students, in a series of work based and applied learning units. The Instructor will work with the LHL Education Delivery Team and Mentorship team to support students.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online in alignment with course objectives, pedagogical approach, and evaluation policies and procedures
- Setting clear and transparent expectations and instructions to students, providing student-centric academic support, and collaborating with the Education Delivery team as required
- Designing active learning strategies and educational experiences using best practices
- Attending periodic Instructor meetings and events; completing mandatory employee training; Compliance with all Policies and Procedures
- Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that the curriculum could improve
- Receives PT teacher feedback, distributes feedback as appropriate and delegates action items
- Deliver lectures and provide expert technical guidance to students who are building exciting projects using the most cutting-edge technologies
- Collaborate & ensure feedback is brought to the Lead Instructor in a timely manner
- Reviews existing programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement and learning

- Minimum of 2 years related professional experience in Cyber Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study is required. Master’s Degree preferred. Industry experience will be considered an equivalent;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry preferred;
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals in the Cyber Security industry;
- Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working in a team environment.
- Tech and Software Savvy - experience with the G Suite, (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar etc.) Discord highly preferred
