To keep serving the ever-expanding needs of our students and communities, we’re growing our team of amazing mentors who are so key to student success. We’re looking for intermediate to senior-level Cyber Security professionals to join our team. Are you passionate about mentoring, creative and critical, and excited about problem-solving? We’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing:

  • As a mentor, your mission is to support our students through their academic journey and prepare them for their transition into an exciting new career in tech.
  • You’ll work directly with students to coach them through any roadblocks they might be experiencing, give them tips on solving problems, and generally provide them with support and advice.
  • We’re flexible in how we work with mentors, and your schedule is structured according to how many hours you’re available. Mentors are paid an hourly rate and are able to work from any time zone.

What we need from you:

  • Mentors aren’t required to have formal training in their area of expertise. However, a true passion and curiosity for Cyber Security, as well as learning and education in general, is a must.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in Cyber Security
  • Experience in a range of popular technologies in Cyber Security.
  • Proficient in the topics covered in our curriculum including: network security, system security, logs and detection, administration, the cyber threat intelligence processes, cryptography, application security, python coding, penetration testing, GRC, Agile project management
  • A strong understanding of Cyber Security related tools including: Command Line Network Tools (SSH, nmap, netstat, etc.), Vulnerability scanning, Metasploit, Active Directory/LDAP, Network Diagramming, SPLUNK, SNORT, Kali Linux
  • Any experience in teaching, mentoring, or tutoring is an asset.
  • The ability to explain concepts and terms in an easily readable manner
