Job Description:
TD Auto Finance (TDAF) is a new division within TD, combining the former Chrysler Financial Services and TD Finance Services. The creation of this new entity allows us to enter a dynamic and rapidly growing sector and offer a wide range of auto financing options that meet the needs of our customers and dealer partners. In Canada, we also finance recreational vehicles and serve the prime and specialty loan markets.
With the goal of becoming the leading auto lender in North America, we have over 2,500 colleagues across our sales teams from coast to coast, as well as teams responsible for credit decisions, financing, inside sales, loan administration, customer service, collections, and our federated functions in risk management, technology solutions, finance, and human resources. Our offices are located in Canada: Toronto and Mississauga, Ontario; Brossard, Quebec; and Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Job Description
Lead activities of their Inside Sales team to develop business in their assigned territories through effective relationship management and the provision of high levels of service.
Communicate and work jointly with the Inside Sales Manager and Regional Managers for the assigned product & territory to provide a consistent message and enhance the service level provided, and more effectively market to TDAF’ dealer/broker partners.
Consult with Director regarding direction and internal sales strategy for their assigned product & territories as outlined by the National and/or Regional Sales Manager.
Work with Director to effectively communicate company strategy and positioning data to reps to ensure consistent support from all staff.
Evaluate and monitor staff adherence to department service level standards such as contact cycle, average phone time, average inbound and outbound calls, approval follow-up quality/quantity and response times.
Partner with Director to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of their inside sales team.
Provide feedback to senior management
Provide feedback to senior management regarding effectiveness and suggest any directional changes of market deployment and positioning strategies.
Develop a close and positive working relationship with the Regional Credit and Funding Management to enhance the combined service offering to TDAF’ dealer/broker customers.
Develop and maintain strong knowledge of TDAF Credit & Funding policies and use the information to help communicate and deal with escalated issues from team.
Assist in implementation of new sales techniques and strategies within team to deploy TDAF’ products and services within the dealership/broker network.
Compile & share with Director any information relating to market intelligence, competition, economic considerations, TDAF positioning, territory strategy, staffing information, operational results within territory.
Maintain a high level of industry knowledge with specific expertise in specific product line.
Provide internal support to the business development, relationship management and TDAF product deployment within assigned regions.
Evaluate TDAF’ market presence and territory distribution with an eye for opportunities and imbalances in the distribution of dealer/broker accounts.
Help develop communication regarding product and service changes, promotions and other TDAF information to dealer/broker network.
Evaluate and increase TDAF’ registered dealer/broker penetration in the assigned region by overseeing the maintenance of accurate prospect and registered information in TDAF’ CRM and training the Area Managers and reps with targeted sales techniques.
Provide leadership to build, maintain and manage a highly motivated, professional and productive team of Inside Sales Representatives.
Provide ongoing guidance and one-on-one coaching to Reps through performance evaluations, job site reviews and continuous communication to build confidence and capability within the roles;
Monitor key performance indicators for each rep and provide leadership and guidance to ensure benchmark levels are achieved;
Ensure timely completion of mid and year end formal performance reviews, participate in performance review meetings and provide guidance to employees in setting annual goals and objectives.
Facilitate departmental meetings and team building activities to encourage engagement and maintain morale in the department.
Encourage and support ongoing employee suggestions and individual initiatives.
Create and maintain an environment that promotes trust, creativity, initiative and cooperation.
Job Requirements
Intricate knowledge of specific product, programs and competitive environment.
Ability to assist in development and execution tactical sales plans including establishing targets and account objectives;
Intermediate level consumer finance and credit knowledge
Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, train and provide guidance to staff resolving issues and concerns that are difficult and complex.
Leadership skills sufficient to develop and maintain high levels of enthusiasm, teamwork, motivation and commitment leading to the achievement of business targets and goals.
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, delegate and coordinate the work of others.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to interact with peers, management, and other departments in a pleasant and professional manner.
Developed problem solving skills sufficient to identify problems, generate solutions and decide on a course of action taking into consideration the best interests of everyone involved.
Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Decisive and able to multi-task in an extremely fast paced environment.
High level business development, persuasion and sales skills with the ability to deal with challenging customer situations in a positive, professional manner.
Demonstrated computer proficiency; intermediate knowledge of FiServ, KeySys and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access).
Additional Information
Post-Secondary Education (University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent) or equivalent experience in Finance, Sales or Business Development.
Minimum 3-4 years experience in consumer finance, sales or customer service industry.
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred; or completion of company or other management training programs.
Bilingual
In office 4x a week.
