Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Commercial Credit Product is accountable for the strategy, delivery, and commercial performance of customer‑facing commercial credit products. This role leads multiple Product Managers and ensures products deliver measurable customer value, sustainable revenue growth, and strong risk outcomes.
The role operates at the intersection of customer experience, commercial results, technology delivery, and enterprise risk, translating business strategy into executable product roadmaps. The Senior Manager partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, Risk, Legal, Technology, and Operations to ensure products are market‑competitive, compliant, and scalable.
This role reports to the Product Group Owner – Manage and Grow Our Commercial Business and acts as a senior decision‑maker for product investment, prioritization, and delivery trade‑offs.
Key Accountabilities:
Customer & Product Value
Own and evolve the product vision and strategy in partnership with senior leadership, aligned to commercial objectives and customer needs.
Ensure product roadmaps deliver maximum customer and business value, balancing speed, quality, risk, and cost.
Oversee the creation, prioritization, and ongoing refinement of value‑focused product backlogs across multiple teams or pods.
Champion the use of customer insights, analytics, and feedback to continuously improve product experience and outcomes, as well as to provide insights to the field.
Ensure clear definition and delivery of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) with appropriate release cadence.
Proactively engage business partners to ensure their input is incorporated into product and procedural changes, and to establish their readiness for change, including Day‑2 operational processes and customer communications.
Commercial, Shareholder & Enterprise Outcomes
Accountable for commercial performance of assigned products, including growth, adoption, and portfolio health.
Partner with senior management to align product investment decisions with enterprise strategy and financial objectives.
Compile market share reporting, providing senior leadership with intelligent insights into the commercial credit market and opportunities therein.
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for assigned products, articulating performance, risks, trade‑offs, and forward strategy.
Ensure strong collaboration with Finance, Treasury, Policy, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to embed controls aligned with risk appetite.
Define and track OKRs and performance metrics, using insights to inform decision‑making and prioritization.
Act as the single point of escalation for complex product delivery decisions, escalating only when appropriate.
Delivery & Agile Leadership
Provide senior leadership oversight to Product Managers and delivery teams, ensuring consistent application of Agile principles and enterprise delivery standards.
Ensure efficient execution of delivery initiatives by removing blockers, resolving priority conflicts, and enabling teams to focus on value delivery.
Oversee dependency management across platforms, shared services, and partner teams.
Ensure disciplined defect management, prioritization, and resolution across product areas.
Reinforce transparency, collaboration, and accountability across product, business, and technology stakeholders.
People & Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop Product Managers, building a strong product talent pipeline.
Foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture that encourages innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
Provide thought leadership and deep product expertise, contributing to broader enterprise product practices.
Act as a role model and brand ambassador for the product organization and the bank.
Support succession planning, capability building, and knowledge transfer within the product function.
Breadth & Depth of Expertise
Deep understanding of existing commercial credit products, policies and procedures. Expertise in commercial product management within a complex, regulated environment is an asset.
Ability to solve ambiguous, high‑impact problems with material financial, customer, and operational implications.
Trusted advisor to executives, capable of framing issues and recommendations in an enterprise context.
Experience & Qualifications
Undergraduate degree and/or recognized product certification.
10+ years of relevant experience in product management, commercial banking, fintech, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience owning revenue‑generating or customer‑critical products.
Experience operating in a regulated financial services environment strongly preferred.
