About this position:

As part of the Later QA development team you will be responsible for the manual and automated testing of exciting new features in your own dedicated product team. You will work directly with the product team and will be responsible for raising bugs and the signing off on new features frequently. You will also be responsible for ensuring that existing features continue to work by using and expanding existing automation. You will have opportunities to shape and mold best practices and processes on an ever evolving team in a fast growing company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop automated tests from scratch for exciting new Later features
  • Work with developers to provide automatic test reports and quality status on each merge
  • Maintain and evolve tests in a Continuous Integration environment
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases in an agile setting through the new software development cycle
  • Develop and maintain automated regression suites for the web application
  • Write efficient test plans and test cases that exercise all logic paths
  • Create and execute manual test cases for new features
  • Sign off on features efficiently and with confidence in the quality of the product
  • Work closely with the product owner to provide accurate updates and status on the products level of completion throughout the development cycle
  • Work alongside the customer support team to debug and solve quality issues
  • Investigate bugs beyond their surface cause and provide accurate, detailed bug reports
  • Contribute to the QA strategy by evolving QA tools, processes and best practices

  • We are looking for a QA developer who is ready to take on the responsibility of testing new features on their very own product team.
  • Who is passionate about QA, is eager to learn & teach to evolve the team and company
  • Who enjoys the variety of testing web and mobile applications are used by tens of thousands of users every day and our users are increasingly demanding more and more from our offerings along with bespoke enterprise solutions.
  • 2+ years experience in Selenium based automated test development
  • Knowledge of industry standard best practices as related to test automation software development
  • Experience in manual testing and contributing to signing of on the quality of features and systems
  • Ability to quantify and communicate the quality of a product to stakeholders using KPIs

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in using Nightwatch.js Selenium library
  • Multi platform test automation experience (web, mobile & BE)
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Exposure to and enthusiasm for Agile approaches to software development
  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of: Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or Physics

Our approach to compensation:

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.

Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.

To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.

Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range:

$110,000-120,000

Where we work

We hire into our hub cities of Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Toronto, ON. We also have team members based remotely for select positions. We post our positions in the hub location(s) where we are open to having the successful candidate be located.
