About this position:

We are seeking an experienced VP, Content, Events and PR to lead a team of professionals to deliver a unique strategy that meaningfully impacts our business.

What you'll be doing:

Leadership & Business Impact

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the team, setting clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including executive leadership, sales, demand generation, web & creative teams to ensure alignment of messaging, goals, and strategies across all initiatives
  • Drive measurable outcomes including warm & hot leads that translate into revenue for the business
  • Support the team to deliver their best work and optimize for business impact
  • Effectively coach and guide team through any ambiguity and shifting priorities

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Lead development and execution of a comprehensive strategy aligned with the company’s brand identity, target audience, SEO and business objectives
  • Own overarching Marketing Content Calendar
  • Lead a team of content creators to produce engaging content across various channels and formats, such as long-form guides, blog posts, videos, infographics, and social posts
  • Ensure content is compelling, relevant, and optimized for SEO to drive engagement, traffic, and lead generation
  • Closely monitor content performance metrics, analyze data insights, and adjust content strategy as needed to meet KPIs and business goals

Events Management

  • Develop and execute an events strategy that aligns with company objectives, target audience, and budget considerations
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of events, including conferences and webinars
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of events, including venue selection, logistics, agenda development, speaker coordination, and attendee experience
  • Evaluate event performance and ROI, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance future events

Public Relations

  • Lead a proactive public relations strategy to increase brand visibility, thought leadership and generate positive media coverage
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts, influencers, industry analysts, and other stakeholders to secure media placements, interviews, and speaking opportunities
  • Deliver press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials, and coordinate media outreach and responses to media inquiries
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends, track PR metrics, and provide regular reports and insights

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for events, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Ensure cost-effective planning while maintaining high-quality experiences

Measurement

  • Track and analyze effectiveness of content, events & PR activities
  • Work with team to provide insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), aligned with team OKRs

  • Endlessly curious
  • 12+ years in progressively senior marketing roles
  • 5 + years in a leadership position with proven expertise in coaching and guidance amid ambiguity and shifting environments.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree – ideally in marketing, business, economics, or technical field
  • Understanding of the technology landscape, especially in influencer marketing and social media marketing
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, fostering goal-setting, team direction, and performance.
  • Effective collaboration for aligned messaging, goals, and strategies across departments.
  • Proven track record in achieving measurable revenue outcomes and team optimization.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing content strategies aligned with brand identity, SEO, and objectives.
  • Leadership in content creation emphasizing SEO and lead generation.
  • Proven leadership in proactive public relations strategies for enhanced brand visibility and media coverage.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with key media contacts, influencers, and analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability in budget development and efficient resource allocation.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that drive business results
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Flexibility & ability to work in an ambiguous, fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a results-driven mindset, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement

Our approach to compensation:

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.

Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.

To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.

Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range:

$200,000 - 210,000 base salary + bonus potential

Where we work

We hire into our hub cities of Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Toronto, ON. We also have team members based remotely for select positions. We post our positions in the hub location(s) where we are open to having the successful candidate be located.
