About this position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Javascript Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining reliable, scalable front end interfaces for our web applications. Our applications are used by thousands of people every day and what you do will directly impact the user experience and interface. The ideal candidate has a passion for building great user experiences and is excited to work with a team of like-minded individuals.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop, launch, and maintain user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks such as React and Ember while adhering to best practices in performance, security, and usability
- Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
- Apply CSS to develop user interfaces that align with our in-house design system standards, ensuring both functional and aesthetic excellence
- Identify issues, conduct research, document findings, and scope out alternative solutions, including detailed estimations of engineering costs and impacts
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in a modular architecture consistent with industry standards
- Engage with team members for code reviews, discussing new challenges, and sharing best practices, tools, and techniques

- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of actively contributing to a team and delivering production-level code and services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or a certificate from a recognized software development program, or has equivalent experience in developing complex software projects
- Is well-versed in contemporary trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including aspects of performance, security, and usability
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in JavaScript, with practical experience in TypeScript as well as React and/or Ember
- Has experience in integrating new features within existing codebases and developing new functionalities from scratch
- Thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment, displaying entrepreneurial qualities with robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Our approach to compensation:
We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.
Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.
To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.
Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.
Salary Range:
$115,000 - 130,500 CAD

Where we work
We hire into our hub cities of Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Toronto, ON. We also have team members based remotely for select positions. We post our positions in the hub location(s) where we are open to having the successful candidate be located.
