Drilling Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Drilling Optimization Specialist to join our team and help our clients drive continuous improvements in their drilling operations. As a Drilling Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for translating data insights into a strong value proposition for our stakeholders. You will support the organization by providing technical recommendations and creating reports to better inform end-users on how they can optimize the use of our products. You will be part of a team that is self-motivated, eager to learn and be challenged, and enjoys having fun.

What you will do

  • Data Analysis: Work with drilling data to build reports and presentations that provide insights on improving drilling efficiencies and translating knowledge into actionable items for clients.
  • Dashboard Development: Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports to present data-driven insights to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Data Visualization: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations that facilitate understanding and decision-making.

  • Data Integration: Integrate reliable data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency, to provide a unified view of the organization's data landscape to influence business decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data analytics and visualization to continuously improve processes and solutions.

What you bring

  • 5-7 years of experience in oil and gas, or the drilling and mining industry
  • Post-secondary training in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using BI software tools; certification in Power BI an asset
  • Sales, marketing, customer service and related experience would be an asset
  • Expertise in report/dashboard development
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and operate in an agile environment and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Work Location: Canada or USA, located in Mountain, Pacific or Central Time Zones

Work remotely: Hybrid or Remote

Note* This position is Part-Time to start with a transition to Full-Time.
