Job Description: Kobalt.io is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team to new levels of performance as a player/coach. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans, cultivating relationships with clients and partners, and expanding our customer base. The ideal candidate will drive strong sales execution by leveraging sales metrics, CRM rigor, technology, automation, and AI. This role requires deep experience in assessing market opportunities and then developing and executing a plan to meet/exceed sales objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in services sales, ideally selling into the SMB sector in cybersecurity, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company goals.
  • Team Management: Manage, mentor, and coach a team of sales professionals to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Sales Process Improvement: Analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Client/Partner Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Reporting: Report on sales performance to the COO through weekly, monthly and quarterly scorecard metrics, including details on forecasting, commits, with accuracy and ability to adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Technology Adoption: Champion the use of automation, AI, and other innovative technologies to improve outcomes including win rate, average order value, time in sales cycle and team capacity.


Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sales Manager or a multi-year President's Club winner who is ready for their first player/coach sales role.
  • 3-4 years of experience with a high success rate in security and compliance, SaaS, Services and/or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to 2X sales bookings in a 1-2 year time frame.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity and compliance services landscape.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

Compensation

  • Target comp: $200K USD+ OTE depending on experience, plus equity
