The Knix Digital Team is looking for a Director of Site Merchandising to drive the future of site merchandising at Knix as we complete our site re-platform, including a site redesign as well as the ongoing optimization of new back-end systems, merchandising tools, and web analytics platform. Blending the art and science of e-commerce merchandising, you will apply in-depth technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in navigating our product-to-site pipeline and offer your cross-functional partners a strategic viewpoint on-site execution, ensuring that the category navigation experience aligns with the design intent of the product, bringing key product initiatives alive on the sight through compelling story-telling.
Keeping the customer experience at the centre of every decision, you will be responsible for all site merchandising, from strategy and planning through to day-to-day execution. Ensure site storytelling, product placement, and site features are optimized in alignment with financial goals, category performance and seasonal strategies. This role requires an individual with demonstrated analytical abilities, a proven track record in e-commerce management/site merchandising strategy, an in-depth understanding of e-commerce KPIs and strong business acumen. The ideal candidate will be a People leader who is skilled at building teams and growing individuals.

The Opportunity

  • Drive site merchandising strategies for Knix to achieve revenue and margin targets, with consideration for customer behaviour, brand aesthetics, and inventory availability
  • Drive decisions that support the creation of a compelling path to purchase, through the entire conversion funnel, including homepage, campaign and landing pages, product listing pages, and product detail pages
  • Develop and manage merchandising and execution plans for new product launches, promotions, and other brand initiatives tailored to both new customers and returning buyers
  • Own the A/B testing roadmap, including building a process for continued optimization and testing for the site merchandising team
  • Leverage site analytics to monitor performance and continuously optimize product placement and discoverability (homepage, collections pages, navigation, promotions, product pages) to improve customer experience, maximize conversion and achieve sales targets
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Customer Empowerment and Operations to improve decision support and incorporate customer feedback
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Accountable to lead and develop the Merchandising Specialist, who is responsible for updating site assets, loading product images, product copy, UGC, and regular site QA to ensure accurate and consistent site experience
  • Continuously optimize process to improve efficiency and team output

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of digital/e-commerce experience and site merchandising
  • 2+ years’ experience as a People leader including talent development, coaching, and performance management
  • Previous experience building & leading digital merchandising strategy for a similar-size category
  • Demonstrated experience in conversion rate optimization through web analytics, site operations, and web experimentation
  • Advanced skill using web analytics and A/B testing to optimize product and category performance and related customer behaviour
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design ideas, and solutions to cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous P&L experience or P&L accountability is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Shopify Platform is considered a strong plus
