The Senior Web Developer is responsible for reviewing requirements, analyzing the data needs of the requirements, and designing, developing and documenting customer interaction points on the Knix web properties indicated by the business requirements. This will entail reviewing and working with the product management team to completely realize the business logic and requirements for features, reviewing the existing code base to leverage existing functionality, designing a solution that is in line with Knix’s coding standards along using SOLID principles, unit testing the implemented solution, and then assisting the QA team to test where necessary. The Senior Web Developer will also mentor junior developers by:
i)Performing code review
s)Holding peer-to-peer design reviews.
The Senior Web Developer will also document the integrations, providing details of the data fields being mapped and transformed.
About You
- You’ve had plenty of years of web development experience, both on the front-end (react), but also back-end systems (via API calls).
- You have experience using Shopify (Liquid)
- You’ve been building in React or Next.js for the past few years, but want to show what you can do. You’re a champion for best coding practices.
- You are a champion for SOLID development principles.
- You enjoy being part of a team’s success, and not just your own.

The Opportunity
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on web development.
- Review business requirements to determine the best design for providing quality, speedy, web interactions for users.
- Review/research data endpoints to push or pull information from.
- Working with the integrations team, determine flexible, scalable solution designs to provide web experiences that leverage third parties.
- Occasionally work with databases to enhance existing functionality on the website.
- Attend and interact with all aspects of Knix’s agile process, such as attending daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, spring planning, and sprint retrospectives.
- Work with junior to intermediate developers on reviewing and improving their web development skills.
- Move software features or bug tickets through Knix’s bug tracking process, from realization, to review, to pointing, implementation, and deployment.
- Work with the QA team to understand changes and test cases to ensure quality in your solutions.
- Attend regular meetings to ensure alignment on daily, weekly and monthly objectives.
