The Merchandising Manager at Knix is responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that align with the company's brand vision and business objectives. This role involves analyzing market trends, understanding customer preferences, and collaborating cross-functionally to curate a compelling product assortment that meets the needs of our diverse customer base. The Merchandising Manager will report to the Director of Merchandising.

The Opportunity

  • Assortment Planning and Product Development: Collaborate with the design, product development, and sourcing teams to create a cohesive product assortment that reflects Knix's brand identity and resonates with our target audience / Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging opportunities and gaps in the market / Work with cross-functional partners to ensure the timely execution of product launches.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Develop seasonal merchandising plans and assortment strategies based on sales performance, historical data, and market trends / Optimize product assortment by category, size, colour, and price point to maximize sales and profitability / Partner with the retail and e-commerce teams to ensure consistent merchandising presentation across all channels.
  • Pricing and Promotions: Establish competitive pricing strategies that drive sales and margin growth while maintaining brand integrity / Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns, discounts, and markdown strategies / Monitor and analyze pricing and promotional performance, making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, e-commerce, retail operations, and finance, to align merchandising initiatives with overall business goals / Provide product expertise and insights to support marketing campaigns, seasonal launches, and merchandising presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising, product management, or related roles, preferably in the apparel or retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in retail math, including sales forecasting, margin analysis, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and build consensus.
  • Creative thinking and a passion for staying abreast of market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with merchandising software/tools (e.g., retail planning systems, product lifecycle management software).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and market dynamics.

Knix is a hybrid work environment with our HQ office located in downtown Toronto (Queen and John). This role would require the incumbent to be in office 2 days every week.
